Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture,combined with massage,for the treatment of depression due to liver qi stagnation.Methods:Sixty patient cases were randomly divided into two groups.The treatment group,which was treated with acupuncture and massage,and the control group,which was treated with acupuncture only.The acupuncture points selected were Baihui,Sishencong,Yintang,Taiyang,Neiguan,Shenmen,Qimen,Sanyinjiao,Taichong,and were administered once a day,for 30 min.Massage of the head,and back was applied once a day,at the end of the acupuncture treatment for 20 min.The course of treatment was 5 sessions,with a treatment interval of 2 days.The control group was treated with conventional acupuncture once a day for the same duration as the treatment group.The above two groups were observed respectively before treatment,and then again,after 4 weeks of treatment.An analysis of the efficacy treatment for 1 month was done at the end of treatment course.Results:1.After 4 weeks of treatment,the total effective rate of acupuncture combined with massage group was shown to be 90%using the HAMD scale and 73.3%within the TCM Syndrome Scale,and the total effective rate of pure acupuncture group was found to be 63.3%for HAMD scale and 33.3%for TCM Syndrome Scale.There was a statistically significant difference(P<0.05)between the two groups.2.There was a significant difference(p<0.05)between the two groups after treatment HAMD scale score and TCM syndrome scale score,with statistical significance.3.There was a significant difference(p<0.05)between the two groups before and after treatment,using the HAMD scale score and TCM syndrome scale scores,with statistical significance.4.There was no significant difference(p>0.05)between the two groups of patients after treatment,nor at the end of follow-up using the HAMD scale score and TCM symptom scale score.Analysis:no statistical significance.5.There was a significant difference(p<0.05)between HAMD scale and TCM Syndrome Scale at the follow-up after 1 month of treatment in both groups.Conclusion:1.Acupuncture combined with massage therapy for liver qi stagnation depression had a clinically significant effect,and the effect was stable.2.Acupuncture combined with massage treatment group reduced the HAMD scale and TCM syndrome scale depression patient's scores significantly,and were superior to simple acupuncture group.3.Acupuncture combined with massage therapy can quickly and significantly improve the symptoms of patients with depression.Patients easily accepted the treatments,were compliant,and the treatment has non-toxic side effects.It is quite worth promoting.
