Objective This project aims to observe the clinical efficacy of Three-Point(heaven-humanity-earth)Massage Therapy in treatment of primary insomnia with liver depression and blood vacuity and how liver depression and blood vacuity is correlated with anxiety and depression through conducting clinical research of Three-Point Acupuncture and Massage Therapy in treatment of primary insomnia with liver depression and blood vacuity.Method In a randomized controlled trial,60 patients with insomnia(liver depression and blood vacuity)were divided into two groups, the experimental group(receiving Three-Point Acupuncture and Massage Therapy)and the control group(receiving Three-Point Acupuncture Therapy);the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI).Anxiety and depression scales were employed to observe and compare with the clinical efficacy of acupuncture treatment of this disease.Result The research results have showed that in terms of clinical efficacy,15 patients were clinically cured and 10 recovered among 30 in the treatment group, with a total effective rate of 93.3%;14 patients were clinically cured and 9 recovered among 30 in the treatment group, with a total effective rate of 86.7%.Statistically,no significant difference existed between the treatment group and the control group(P> 0.05),indicating no difference in the efficacy in-between.In regard to PSQI evaluation, each item has gained marked improvements after receiving treatment between two groups of patients(P <0.01),and the treatment group was superior to the control group as far as sleep disorders. In evaluations of anxiety and depression state, the treatment group overmatched the control group. Conclusion The above results suggest that Three-Point Acupuncture and Massage Therapy was effective in treatment of primary insomnia with liver depression and blood vacuity and that it can vastly improve sleep quality of patients, and help them relieve anxiety and depression.
