Objective:Observing the therapeutic effects on chronic tonsillitis(CTS)patients gargling with removing heat and cooling blood decotion after tonsillectomy by low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation, explore the significance of gargling with herbs in postoperative inflammation changes to offer clinical ideas and theoretical foundation for the combination treatments of traditional chinese medicine and western medicine after low-temperature plasma excision.Method:60 cases of inpatients with CTS from March 2016 to December 2017,in Department of ENT,Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, were divided into 3 groups, including 20 cases of chinese medicine group,20 cases of western medicine group and 20 cases of control group. All patients received bilateral tonsillectomy through low-temperature plasma radio frequency ablation by the same experienced archiater under systemic intravenous anesthesia. All surgical operations were allocated with the same low-temperature plasma cutte and plasma radio frequency blade. All postoperative patients were treated with normal anti-infection and hemostasis treatments.Besides, since the first day after operation, the chinese medicine group took a dose of gargle twice a day.The western medicine group used active silver ion antibacterial liquid in the same way while the control group received no other gargle treatments. The data of hypersensitive-C reactive protein(hs-CRP),white blood:cell(WBC),neutrophil%(N%).were recorded at preoperation, postoperation dayl and day5.All postoperative patients were assessed about pharyngeal pain, according to self-designed visual analogue score(VAS)method at postoperation dayl and day5.Whether having oral malodor was recorded at postoperation dayl and day5 too.All data were compared statistically, there were statistical meanings(P<0.05)while significant statistical meanings(P<0.01).Results:Imflammation marker:At the postoperation day5,through the comparison between any two groups, there is no statistical difference on the data changes of hs-CRP,WBC and N%(P>0.05).Pharyngeal pain VAS:At the postoperation day5,the chinese medicine group(MEDIAM,M)is 4,the western medicine group is 6 and the control group is 6.Through the comparison between chinese medicine group and control group, there is significant statistical difference(P<0.01).There is also significant difference between chinese medicine group and western medicine too(P<0.01).Oral malodor:All patients have no oral malodor before surgical operations and at the postoperation dayl. There are 4 cases(positive rate 20%)in the control group found with oral malodor at the postoperation day5,while there is no case in the chinese medicine and western medicine group. Conclusion:Gargling with removing heat and cooling blood decotion after bilateral tonsillectomy by low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation has no significant effect on the changes of inflammatory markers,hs-CRP,WBC and N%.Gargling with removing heat and cooling blood decotion is effective on relieving postoperative pharyngeal pain and preventing from oral malodor.Gargling with chinese herbs which has definite therapeutic effects and simple operation mode deserves to be promoted clinically.
