Comparison Of The Efficacy Of Low-temperature Coblation And Conventional Ablation On Tonsil In The Treatment Of Chronic Tonsillitis

Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of low temperature plasma ablation tonsillectomy and conventional tonsillectomy for chronic tonsillitis.Methods:A retrospective analysis of 48 patients with chronic tonsillitis undergoing tonsillectomy admitted to our hospital from October 2017 to December 2018 was performed.Among them,24 patients with conventional tonsillectomy were selected as the control group.The low-temperature plasma ablation of tonsils was selected.24 patients were treated as study group.The operation time,intraoperative blood loss,postoperative leucorrhea time,normal diet time,postoperative hemorrhage,pain score and quality of life at 1 d,3 d and 7 d after operation were compared between the two groups.Results:Compared with the control group who underwent conventional tonsillectomy,the study group had shorter operation time(t=12.34,P=0.016),less intraoperative blood loss(t=8.49,P=0.029),postoperative leucorrhea The time was longer(t=5.69,P=0.034),and the normal diet time was earlier than the control group(t=21.23,P=0.007),and the pain level at 1d,3d and 7d after operation was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.001).),the difference is statistically significant.The quality of life improvement of the study group was significantly better than that of the control group(2=3.63,P=0.006).There was no significant difference in postoperative bleeding between the two groups(2=1.457,P=0.431).Conclusion:Low-temperature plasma ablation of tonsils has short operation time,less intraoperative blood loss,and early recovery of normal diet time,and significantly reduces postoperative pain symptoms and improves quality of life.Low temperature plasma tonsillectomy is an effective alternative to conventional tonsillectomy for chronic tonsillitis.
