[Background]Health literacy is is the ability of individuals to acquire,understand,process basic health information and services,and make appropriate health care decisions.Residents' health literacy could be divided into four dimensions in some foreign countries,namely,knowledge-based health literacy,behavioral health literacy,belief health literacy,functional health literacy.But in China it is usually referred to 3 areas and 6 dimensions for the adults.Health literacy is an important part of the population's scientific quality.To some extent,health literacy can affect the level of the residents' health.It also can improve and strengthen people's attention to their health and use of,so as to improve the knowledge level of people,to the use of health services,and self-managerment level.Health literacy affects people's health more than education,income,unemployment and ethnicity.People with low level of health literacy not only neglect their health status,but also rarely seek medical treatment and participate in corresponding physical examinations,and seldom participate in the related health education activities.The level of health literacy directly affects the health status of individuals and society.The health literacy of children and adolescents has been highly concerned by the government.The study of adult health literacy at home and abroad more and more mature,but the study of child and adolescent health literacy is not perfect,especially for primary school students aged 7-12.Therefore,determine student health literacy connotation and structure of primary and middle school students,building assessment tools,and then clear the current primary and middle school students' health literacy situation,the influence factors of how it can affect the health of primary and middle school students' literacy,is of great significance for government departments to formulate the corresponding intervention measures.[Objectives]Through a thorough investigation of the status and influencing factors of health literacy of primary and middle school students in Shandong Province,a scientific basis for health education will be provided for primary and secondary schools in our province in the future.At the same time,a standardized evaluation system and monitoring method for the health literacy of primary and middle school students are set up,to lay a good foundation for routine monitoring and further study.[Methods]In this study,a multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method was used to extract the research objects.28726 full-time primary and secondary school students in Qingdao,Yantai,Zibo,Linyi and Liaocheng were selected as the subjects.The questionnaire survey was used to investigate the health literacy of the subjects.Epidata3.1 was used to establish database collection and input data,and SPSS22.0 was used to analyze the data.[Results]Among primary and third grade students,the health literacy rate was 62.8%.According to the dimension,health knowledge and concept has a rate of 47.7%.Health skills had a rate of 73.6%.The rate of healthy behavior was 88.3%.According to the field,the rate of safety emergency literacy was 75.6%.The rate of health care literacy was 56.3%.The rate of disease prevention literacy was 80.1%.Among students in grade 4 to 6(primary school),the health literacy rate was 60.8%.According to the dimension,the health knowledge and concept has a rate of 54.4%,and ealth skills with a rate of 56.0%.The rate of healthy behavior was 76.3%.According to the field,the rate of safety emergency literacy was 80.3%.The rate of health care literacy was 34.5%.The disease prevention literacy rate was 81.7%.Among the seventh to ninth grade students,the health literacy rate was 72.2%.According to the dimension,the rate of health knowledge and concept was 66.1%.The rate of health skills was 75.6%.The rate of healthy behavior was 83.9%.According to the field,the rate of safety emergency literacy was 81.0%.The rate of-health care literacy was 48.9%.The rate of disease prevention literacy was 75.3%.Analysis factors influencing the health literacy of primary and middle school students in Shandong province:Among 1-3 grade students(primary school),single factor analysis showed that factors such as gender,residence,grade,whether the one child,area,self-assessment study,father's occupation and education level,mother's occupation and education level were the influencing factors of health literacy.Multivariate analysis showed that gender,residence,grade,whether the only child,area,self-assessment study,father's occupation and education level were the influencing factors of health literacy.Among 4-6 grade students(primary school),single factor analysis showed that factors such as gender,residence,grade,whether the one-child,area,self-assessment study,father's occupation and education level,mother's occupation and education level were the influencing factors of health literacy.Multivariate analysis showed that gender,residence,grade,area,self-assessment study,father's occupation and education level,and mother's occupation were the factors influencing health literacy.Among 9-7 grade students(middle school),single factor analysis showed that factors such as gender,residence,grade,whether the one-child,area,self-assessment study,father's occupation and education level,mother's occupation and education level were the influencing factors of health literacy.Multivariate analysis showed that gender,grade,area,self-assessment study,father's occupation and education level were the factors influencing health literacy.[Conclusions]1.The primary and middle school students in Shandong province have certain health literacy,and there are great differences in health literacy among different regions.Corresponding interventions should be made for the actual situation of different regions.2.Students' health literacy varied with the different dimensions.4-6 grade students,health care literacy,health skills literacy were worse.It is suggested that the above two aspects of health literacy intervention should be strengthened.3.Gender,residence,grade,the one-child,self-assessment study,parents'education level and occupation have different effects on students' health literacy.It is necessary to strengthen the intervention of health literacy for children and adolescents among boys,rural areas,underdeveloped areas,low grade,poor self-assessment study,parents are the public servants.
