Background:The Mycoplasma pneumonia is the one of the smallest organisms of self-replicating in the living organisms and it is the universal cause of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, causing to a wide variety of pulmonary and extra-pulmonary manifestations.MP pneumonia has been stated in 20 to 60 percent of cases of community-acquired pneumonia and that explains an even higher amount during epidemics.Mycoplasma pneumonia is an endemic in the entire of the population of the worldwide with recurring epidemics about 4 to 9 years. Objective:To analyze the difference between Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia and Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia with Chlamydia pneumoniae co-infection in children.Method:We conducted a retrospective study of pneumonia in children caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniaeand Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia pneumoniaeco-infection hospitalized in Bethune first Hospital of Jilin University,Paediatric Pulmonary department from March 2016 to February 2017.wecomparedthe difference on age, clinical manifestations and time of hospitalization. Results:The mean age in mixed infection group was 5.41 years old,and the mean age in Mycoplasma pneumoniaeinfection group was 3.25 years old,the difference was statistically significant;in mixed infection group,6.1% patients had pleural effusion,15.2% patients with severe pneumonia(1 with respiratory failure)andliver injury occurred in 12.1%.they were significantly higher than that of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection group(respectively 2.7%,5.4%),and the incidence of myocardial damage in two groups was approximately equal;the average hospitalization time was 9.7 days and from onset to remission time was 25.94 days, which were significantly higher than Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection group(7.08 days,14.73 days),the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Children with pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumonia were older thanthose caused by mixed infection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia pneumonia, more likely to have multiple complications and the duration of the disease was longer and the remission of the disease took longer.
