Physical Identification Of Traditional Chinese Medicine For Children With Secretory Otitis Media

Purpose: To study the correlation between secretory otitis media(caused by adenoid hypertrophy)and physical identification of traditional Chinese medicine.Method: Using the questionnaire as the main form,including the number,date,the general situation and physical identification survey.The general situation is filled out by the parents who under the guidance of the researchers,while the physical identification filled out by the researchers according to the situation of children.Researchers make a "?" in case of children meeting the conditions.Each "?" counts 1 point.The cumulative score of the highest physical identification is the final result.If the result contains more than one physical identification,we record them “phase and physique”.The data will be analyzed by statistical software called SPSS19.0,and the chi-square test was performed on the relationship between physique and gender,physique and age as well.P <0.05 indicates that the difference is statistically significant.Result: We collected 60 cases in which there are 37 boys and 23 girls.The total of physique of phlegm and dampness in boys are 15 and which are 8 in girls.Children are divided into three groups by age,3-5 year-old children in 46 cases,which is the most.Among the 3-5 year-old children,the number of physique of phlegm and dampness is 19,which is the most.The result of 8-10 year-old group is the same.There are more children being defined as normal and lung deficiency physique in 5-8 year-old group.The sum of children with physique of phlegm and dampness is 23,which takes up 38.33% in 60,followed by normal physique.We have not found “phase and physique” until finishing this experiment.Conclusion: The correlation between physique and gender,physique and age was calculated by chi-square test.The result is P> 0.05,which indicate that there is no significant difference between them.However,the result of the constituent ratio of the physique of phlegm and dampness is proved valuable by test of goodness of fit since P<0.05.In conclusion,the total of physique of phlegm and dampness in children with secretory otitis media(caused by adenoid hypertrophy)is the most.This kind of children are more easily suffering from secretory otitis media.It is proved that there is no direct relationship between physique and gender,physique and age as well.
