Objective To investigate the basic situation of chronic diseases of rural elderly,including the sequencing and number of chronic diseases.To explore the influencing factors of the number of chronic diseases,patients of chronic diseases with depression and the degree of depression.To obtain the influencing factors of dependent variables according to the study,and propose specific policy recommendations.To improve the physical and mental health of rural elderly,and promote the construction of healthy anging society.Methods Using the data of 2013 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)to explore the situation of chronic diseases and depression of rural elderly.There were 4255 rural elderly into the study of chronic diseases,3142 paients of chronic diseases into the study of depression,1656 paients of chronic diseases and depression into the study of the degree of depression.The doctor told and self perceived as criteria for chronic disease,CES-D10 scores more than 11 as criterion for depressive symptoms.Descriptive analysis on chronic diseasea and chronic diseases with depression of rural elderly.Regression analysis on the number of chronic diseases,paients of chronic diseases with depression and the degree of depression of rural elderly.To analyze the corresponding influencing factors of respective dependent variables.The independent variables were composed of demographic information,social with economic information and health care information.There were separately age,gender,areas,marital status,education level,family income,self-assessment of health status,the degree of physical pain,smoking,medical services,self treatment etc..The main methods of the study include multivariable linear regression,Logistic regression and chi-square test.The software was SPSS 23.0.Results The prevalence rate of chronic diseases in rural elderly is higher relatively,73.9%of rural elderly suffered from chronic diseases.The prevalence rate of women was higher than men.The prevalence rate of women was 76.5%and men was 71.3%.The ranking of prevalence of chronic diseases in rural elderly of the top five is arthritis or rheumatism(40.4%),hypertension(29.0%),gastric diseases(24.7%),chronic lung diseases(14.6%)and heart disease(12.4%).The number of chronic diseases need to be pay attention,43.7%of the rural elderly suffering from two or more chronic diseases,which suffering from four or more than accounted for 10.4%.The number of chronic diseases of rural elderly was positively correlated with gender,family income,self-assessment of health status.The number of chronic diseases of rural elderly was positively correlated with gender,family income,self-assessment of health status and negatively correlated with self treatment.Univariate analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of paients of chronic diseases with depression and discover that the gender,marital status,areas,life satisfaction,self-assessment of health status,the degree of physical pain,smoking,medical services,self treatment and the number of chronic diseases were its influencing factors.Multivariate analysis was used to discover that the gender,marital status,areas,life satisfaction,self-assessment of health status,the degree of physical pain,smoking,medical services and the number of chronic diseases were its risk factors,including smokingOR=0.734<1,B=-0.310<0)and medical services(OR=0.787<1,B=-0.153<0)were its protective factors.Regression analysis was used to discover that there was a linear relationship between the gender,life satisfaction,self-assessment of health status,the degree of physical pain,social activities,smoking,the degree of depression and the degree of depression.The degree of physical pain b'=0.176 is the largest value in the various factors,therefore it had the greatest influence on the degree of depression.Conclusion The prevalence rate of chronic diseases in rural elderly was high.The prevalence rate of paients of chronic diseases with depression was higher.The women,low life satisfaction,poor self-assessment of health status,no social activities,no medical services were higher risk of rural elderly with chronic diseases and depression.To improve the level of physical and mental health of the rural elderly comprehensively.It was time to establish and enhance the mechanism of health education for the rural elderly and advocate the thought of health management to achieve health promotion.The prevention and treatment to chronic diseases should adhere to the whole population and high risk group.To optimize the allocation of health resources and infrastructure and promote fairness of health services and preventive care services.To enhance self-efficacy and social support and eliminate bad lifestyle.To pay more attention to the level of mental healyh of rural elderly and use a variety of ways to intervene the symptoms of paients of chronic diseases wth depression.
