Objective:This study intends to understand the present status of non-communicable chronic disease and it’s influencing factors among elderly in Dalian through a sample survey, targetes to provide the evidence for the prevention measures and strategies for the relevant administrative departments, and to improve the health level of the elderly in Dalian.Methods:Relevant data of this study was from the survey of health services demand and health resource allocation of Dalian in 2013, and the research object was1820 elderly who aged≥60 in the survey. The database was analyzed using SPSS16.0.Chi-square test was used to test the differences between two groups. The single and multivariable non-conditional logistic regression model was used for the single and multivariate analysis. Multiple Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the risk factors of the chronic diseases. P≤0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results:1. 1820 elderly were investigated, including 1209 elderly in urban and 611 elderly in rural areas, with an average age of 69.3, and male to female ratio of 1.19:1.The prevalence rate of chronic diseases among the elderly in Dalian was 39.7%. The rate in urban was 44.5% and was 30.1% in rural. The rate of male was 35.4%, and of female was 45%.2. By chi-square testing, there were statistically differences between location, gender, age, education level, employment status, source of income, annual percapita income, medical insurance, physical examination in the past 12 months, smoking,drinking, exercise and sleeping quality of elderly who suffered chronic diseases in Dalian.3. The top nine chronic diseases among elderly in Dalian were hypertension(27.8%), diabetes mellitus(9.45%), cardiovascular diseases(8.52%), cerebrovascular diseases(3.35%), digestive system diseases(1.48%), tumor(1.2%), chronic bronchitis(1.2%), heart diseases(1.15%), osteoarthrosis(0.77%). There were no differences between urban and rural area in the ranks of the top four.4. Multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that location, gender, age, annual per capita income, physical examination,and smoking were main influencing factors of hypertension; location,gender, and age were main influencing factors of diabetes mellitus; age, physical examination, and sleeping quality were main influencing factors of cardiovascular diseases; and smoking was main influencing factor of cerebrovascular diseases.Conclusion:1. The prevalence of chronic diseases among elderly in Dalian was lower than the results of the 4th national health services survey. The rate in urban was higher than that in rural, and the rate among male was lower than that among female.2.Hypertension has been the disease which elderly in Dalian suffered most. The top four chronic diseases were hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases and cerebrovascular diseases.3. Location, gender, age, annual per capita income, physical examination, smoking were main influencing factors of hypertension; location, gender,age were main influencing factors of diabetes mellitus; age, physical examination,sleeping quality were main influencing factors of cardiovascular diseases; and smoking was main influencing factor of cerebrovascular diseases.
