Comparison Of Clinical Effects Of TPF-D And Peptisorb In Early Enteral Nutrition After Gastric Cancer Surgery

Objective:To valuate intacted protein enteral nutritional(TPF-D)and short-peptide-based enteral nutrition(Peptison)in early enteral nutrition(EEN)after gastric cancer surgery by investigating their clinical effects in the patients.Methods:32 postoperative patients with gastric carcinoma were randomly and equally(radom digit table)divided into 2 groups,intacted protein enteral nutritional group(TPF-D group)and short peptide based enteral nutrition(Peptison group).Each group has 16 patients.Two groups were given EEN from the first day after sugery and the ennteral nutrition lasted 7 days.The nutrition index an the change of blood glucose in the day before the surgery and postoperative 3 and 7 day were recorded.We observed the gastrointestinal function,complications and accounted the costs of nutritional support and the differences between the 2 groups were compared.Results:Recording the date,we found that there was no significant difference in the level of albumin(ALB),prealbumin(PAB),transferrin(TF)level and rate of complcations between the 2 groups after surgery(P>0.05).The blood glucose was lower in TPF-D group than Peptison group(P<0.05).The length of restoration of bowel function was significantly shorter in TPF-D group than in Peptison group(P<0.05).The length ofgastrointestinal dysfunction was shorter in TPF-D group than in Peptison group(P<0.05).The cost of TPF-D group is lower than Peptison group(P<0.01).Conclusion:TPF-D and Peptisorb,as EN preparations for early enteral nutrition in postoperative patients with gastric carcinoma,their effects of nutrition and complications were not different.Compared with Peptison,TPF-D maintains more stable blood glucose in patients after gastric cancer surgery and accelerates the recovery of gastrointestinal function.Furthermore,the treatment cost of TPF-D is less complicated than Peptison.So we can give priority to TPF-D as of support formula in EEN scheme after gastric cancer surgery,the second choice is Peptison.
