Objective:Gastric cancer is a common and multiple tumor.It is not only a serious threat to the life and health of patients,but also greatly reduce the patient’s quality of life.The purpose of this subject was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of enteral nutrition(EN)and parenteral nutrition(PN) after gastric cancer operation.Methods:Selected research 60 cases gastric cancer patients from October 2012 to January2014 in the Middle hospital of Taiyuan city in department of general surgery.The inclusion of 60 eases were divided into two groups according to nutritional approach:EN group(n=30) and PN group(n=30).The two groups were collected the reports of hemoglobin(HB)、transferrin(TRF)、total protein(TP)、albumin(SA)、alanine aminotransferase(ALT) 、 aspartate aminotransferase( AST) 、 serum total bilirubin(STB)on preoperative 1st day and postoperative 8thday by collecting early morning venous blood.Meanwhilo,observe the time periods for postoperative hospital stay,gastrointestinal function retrieved,the incidence of complications(lung infection,pleural effusion,anastomotic fistula,poor wound healing,postoperative hyperglycemia,functional delayed gastric emptying etc).Using SPSS17.0 software for statistical analysis, it is statistically significant as P < 0.05 for the difference.Results:All patients in the course of the study with no serious complications or death.①There was no significant difference between the two groups of all variablesincluding HB、TRF、TP、SA、 ALT、AST、STB on preoperative 1stday,they don’t have any statistical differences between the two groups(P>0.05).②On postoperative 8th day,test indexs of gastric cancer operation EN group patients including HB、TRF、STP、SA、ALT、AST、STB were increased.While decection indexs of gastric cancer operation PN group patients including HB 、 SA were decreased and TRF、STP、ALT、AST、STB were increased. There was statistical significant differences between two groups(p<0.05).③EN group has less postoperative hospital stay than PN group,while they have statistical differences between the two groups(P<0.05).④EN group has shorter time for gastrointestine function retrieved than PN group,and they have statistical differences between the two group(P<0.05).⑤EN group has less complications than that of PN group which is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Early EN after gastric cancer operation is able to effectively improve the nutritional status of patients and promote protein synthesize and the recovery of the patients,meanwhile which can shorten the length of hospital stay and gastroenteric function in patients with recovery time, reduced the incidence of postoperative complications.
