◆ Two kinds of enteral nutrition preparations’effects on mice liver regeneration and function after partial hepatectomyObjective:To investigate two kinds of enteral nutrition preparations’effects on mice liver regeneration and function after partial hepatectomy(PH).Methods:A mice model of oral EN (enteral nutrition) after 70% PH was used in this study. Seventy-two male ICR mice were randomly divided into PH control group (routine diet after PH), TP-MCT group(EN with TP-MCT after PH) and SP group(EN with Peptisorb after PH). The serum samples and the liver tissue specimens were collected at 1,3,7 d after PH. The serum samples were collected to measure the levels of ALT, AST, ALB, IL-6 and IL-10. The liver tissue specimens were collected to measure the proliferation of hepatocytes and the morphology of liver tissue by immunostaining technique and HE staining. Results:In comparison with the PH control group on days 1,3 and 7,the levels of ALT,AST decreased significantly in the TP-MCT group and SP group (P<0.05). Compare to the PH control group on day l,the level of IL-6 decreased remarkably in the TP-MCT group and SP group, but the level of IL-10 increased significantly in the TP-MCT group and SP group (P<0.05). Liver regeneration was enhanced significantly on days 1、3 and 7 in the TP-MCT group and SP group, especially in the SP group. Conclusions:Enteral nutrition can be well protected mice liver function and promote liver regeneration after PH, and the application of SP (Peptisorb) can be obtained a better effect.◆ Early enteral nutrition compare with enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after hepatectomyObjective:To evaluate the impact of using early enteral nutrition singly and combining enteral nutrition with parenteral nutrition on patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after precise hepatectomy. Methods:Sixty patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing precise hepatectomy were divided into two groups:EN group, received early enteral nutrition (n=30); EN+PN group, received early enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition (n=30). The two groups were both received nutritional formulas with isocaloric and isonitrogenous 24 hours after operation, and they were ended at postoperative day 7. The general conditions, nutritional variables, liver function tests, clinic variables, postoperative complications on three time points, which included preoperative phase, postoperative day 1 (POD 1) and postoperative day 8 (POD8) were observed respectively. Results:In the EN group, the serum prealbumin level was higher than EN+PN group on POD8 (P<0.05). In the EN group, the time of gut function recover was shorter than EN+PN group (P<0.05). No significant difference was found in other variables between the two groups (P>0.05).Conclusions:Early enteral nutrition can promote protein synthesis and gut function recover in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma after precise hepatectomy. As a result, EN is a safe, rational and effective way of Clinical nutrition support.
