Objective Intensive intervention and comprehensive intervention for primary school students and their parents were applied to compare the effect of both methods and to explore the feasibility of strengthening intervention and the feasibility of further promotion.Methods The students and their parents from 4 primary schools in SHINAN district of QINGDAO city were chosen and divided into two groups: intervention group and control group,respectively.There were a total of 697 students in the intervention group and 731 students in the control group.The number of parents in the intervention group and the control group was 1113 and 1234,respectively.The intervention group was conducted with a special intervention program such as "special teaching plan","health education course" and "big hand holding small hand".The control group carried out comprehensive intervention with "happy 10 minutes",and before and after the intervention,parents were received a questionnaire survey,the physical examination of primary school students was applied to assess the effect of nutritional intervention,and the SPSS19.0 software using ?2 test and t test for statistical analysis was implemented.Results The awareness rate of primary school students' health knowledge was improved by 19.09% in the intervention group and 3.31% in the control group(P <0.01)by 1 year intervention.There was no significant difference between the intervention group and the control group(P >0.05);After intervention,the intervention group with "often eat fresh vegetables","often eat fresh fruits" and "often take post-school and weekend sports" was obviously higher than that of control group(P <0.01).The BMI changes in primary school students: through a one-year intervention,After one year intervention,the intervention group with " Have breakfast everyday","Eat regular fresh vegetables","Eat fresh fruits","Drink milk every day"," Often take post-school and weekend sports " was significantly increased(P <0.01),and the control group had little change(P >0.05).The changes of BMI of intervention group and control group in primary school students were(0.60±1.56)kg/m2 and(1.06±1.51)kg/m2,respectively(P<0.01).Nutritional status of primary school students: the intervention group and the control group were not significantly improved(P >0.05).Parental nutrition intervention results: After intervention,the awareness rate of nutrition knowledge of pupils' parents in the intervention group was significantly improved;the awareness rate of nutrition knowledge of pupils' parents increased with the increase of their educational level(P<0.05);The health behavior development rate of the pupil's parents in the intervention group was slightly improved.Conclusion Through 1 year nutrition intervention measures,compared with the comprehensive intervention,targeted nutrition and health education possess a more positive advantage on improving the awareness of primary school students and their parents' nutrition knowledge,health behavior and the prevention of the incidence of nutrition and other aspects of the occurrence.
