Object: This study aims to discusses whether bloodletting therapy can replace hormone intravenous drip in clinic for the treatment of facial nerve palsy in acute period by comparing the clinical treatment effect of hormone therapy with the effect of bloodletting therapy through strict controlled clinical trials,and finally establish better treatment options.Method: 72 cases of Peripheral Facial Paralysis were randomly divided into two groups,treatment group and control group.For treatment group,patients were treated by electroacupuncture and bloodletting therapy around Yiming point.For control group,patients were treated by electroacupuncture and hormone intravenous drip therapy.After treatment,the overall clinical efficacy,improvement rate,recovery time,complication rates of the 2 groups were compared and evaluated referencing The Clinical Evaluation of Peripheral Facial Paralysis and analyze the data with statistical software.Results:2 groups were compared from the aspects of the overall clinical efficacy,improvement rate,treatment time,the aspect of complication rate which were not statistically significant(P>0.05);2 groups were compared from the disappearance of pain after the ear,which were statistically significant.Conclusion:Bloodletting therapy and hormone intravenous drip therapy are both effective,but considering the various side effects and contraindications of hormone intravenous drip therapy,bloodletting should prompt further popularized in clinical application.
