Research On The Medical-nursing Combined Institutional Care Service

It is reported that China has now entered an aging society,and the situation is getting serious progressively.With the increasing number of older people who suffer from chronic diseases,it put great challenges to the medical and nursing care for older people.The medical and nursing care problems are prominent in the current pension models in which medical care separates from elderly care.Furthermore,most of aged care agencies lack professional medical care equipment,which causes that the medical needs of older people in aged care agencies cannot be satisfied accordingly.Currently,hospitals are responsible for the disable elderly' and older people with chronic diseases' medical care,and hospitals are facing much pressure to provide qualified medical care for this age group.Faced with the mentioned issues previously,a new style of aged care,which combines medical care and elderly care,has emerged under this situation.In recent times,this new style of aged care has been adopted in some cities,and achievements have been made by some of cities,such as Beijing,Qingdao and so forth.As the first city which adopts this combined style of aged care in Liaoning province,Dalian witnesses the enforcement and improvement of this combined style of aged care.The government also publishes some policies to enhance the development of this new combined way of aged care.This essay will analyze the situation of the development of the new combined style of aged care,and the agency A will be taken as an example.In order to get direct information from the doctors,nurses,older people,as well as their families,observation and face-to-face interviews methods are applied in my research.The issues faced by the agency A mainly lie in the following aspects:the insufficiency of professional nurses,lacking psychological services,high charges,the inadequate funding from government,and imbalanced development in different areas.Based on this,I will give some suggestions from the perspectives of service providers,funding,policies and professionals.
