Objective:(1)Describe the quality of life of 7-14 years old children with asthma;(2)explore the influencing factors of quality of life in children with bronchial asthma so as to provide theoretical basis for improving the quality of life of children with bronchial asthma. Methods:This was a multi-center cross-sectional study with method of convenient sampling.204 children with asthma and their parents were investigated from pediatric asthma outpatient department of four hospitals in Beijing,Shandong and Gansu province.Survey tools included questionnaire on general situation of children and their families,Pediatric Asthma Quality of Life Questionnaire(PAQLQ),Family Management Style Scale for Children with Asthma,General Functioning of Family Assessment Scale,Childhood Asthma Control Test(C-ACT),Asthma Control Test(ACT)and Self-management Scale for Children with Asthma(7-17 years old).SPSS 20.0 and SAS 8.2 statistical software were used to analyze data.Statistical methods included descriptive statistics,Pearson correlation analysis,t-test,analysis of variance, multiple stepwise regression analysis.Results:(1)The average overall score of quality of life in children with asthma was 5.94±1.07 points(total score was 1-7 points),Scores greater than 66%of the total score accounted for 88.7%;the average score of activity dimension, symptoms dimension and emotional dimension were 5.81 ± 1.13points,5.93± 1.13 points and 6.04± 1.22 points respectively.(2)The results of univariate analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between the quality of life and family function in children with asthma,(r=-0.141,p<0.05),and a positive correlation between the quality of life and asthma control level(r=0.597,p<0.01).The score of quality of life in asthmatic children were higher if they were girls, the only child in family, received regular follow-up,lived in an annual income over 10 thousand yuan's family, had medical insurance, didn't affect their parents' daily life, participated in asthma lectures, lived in cities, less emergency visits, lived in the family with accommodating and thriving management styles. On the contrary, the score of quality of life in asthmatic children were lower if they were boys, had brothers or sisters, failed to follow up,lived in an annual income less than 10 thousand yuan's family, had no health insurance, affected their parents' daily life, didn't participate in asthma lectures, lived in the countryside, more emergency visits, lived in the family with struggling and floundering management styles.(3)The multiple-factor analysis showed that the factors affecting the quality of life in children with asthma were the level of asthma control, the struggling type of family management, floundering family management style, regular follow-up or not and whether they had health insurance or not, which explain 47.9%of variation of quality of life; The factors affecting the quality of life on activity dimension in children with asthma were the level of asthma control, the enduring family management style, floundering family management style and whether they had health insurance or not, which explain 27.9%of variation on activity dimension of quality of life; The factors affecting the quality of life on symptoms dimension in children with asthma were the level of asthma control, the struggling family management style, floundering family management style, regular follow-up or not and whether they had health insurance or not, which explain 49.6%of variation on symptom dimension of quality of life; The factors affecting the quality of life on emotional dimension in children with asthma were the level of asthma control, the struggling family management style, floundering family management style, regular follow-up or not and whether they had health insurance or not, which explain 42.2%of variation on emotional dimension of quality of life.Conclusion:(1)The quality of life of asthma children aged between 7 and 14 years were at a high level.(2)Factors affecting the quality of life of 7-14 years old children with asthma were:age, gender, whether they were the only child or not, whether they received regular follow-up or not, family income, the type of medical payment, whether parents' daily life had been affected or not, whether they participated in asthma lectures or not, familyresidence, the family management style, times of emergency visits per year, the control level of asthma, the level of self-management,the definition of the situation in family management process(The degree of children's identification, the degree of disease identification, the degree of difficulty of care, the degree of parental identification)and family function(3)The control level of asthma, the family management style, regular follow-up,the type of medical payment were the main factors affecting the quality of life of children aged 7-14 with asthma.
