ObjectiveTo understand the consumption of the snack and beverage for the students which between grade 3 to 6 in primary school in Liaoning Province,including the categary,frequency,time and the major buying groups.To provide a scientific basis for the primary school students to make the consumption rationally and healthy.Research objects and methods1.Investigation objectBy using the method of stratified sampling and cluster sampling,According to the economic development level of each city in Liaoning Province,a city was randomly selected from each three areas which is economically developed,more developed and under developed.Select five schools from every city(2 city primary schools and 3 rural primary schools),all the students from grade 3 to 6 are chosen in each primary school which is selected as a respondents,the total number of 8111 people.2.The investigation and indexThe investigation was completed by using a questionnaire which was unified compiled,and the the investigators was unified training.The survey should included the basic information such as the school,class,student number,name,age,sex,date of birth,nationality and so on,also the type of snacks and drinks which are consumed regularly,the consumption frequency during the week,the main consumption time,consumer,breakfast list,bring food or not to the school in the morning and their nutrition knowledge.3.Statistical methodsUsing Epidata for the data entry and the SPSS 21.0 statistical software for the data analysis and process.According to the nature of information,use the t-test,variance analysis test method,2nd test processed,and the level of significant level ?= 0.05.Results1.This investigation aims of the status of snacks and beverage consumption between the grade 3 and 6 in liaoning province.There were totally 8111 primary school studens was involved,of which 54.1% from the city and 45.9% from the rural.The rate of the boys was 52.1% and the girls was 47.9%.2.There were 91.2% of primary school students are eating snacks regulary,The rate of snack consumption in girs was higher than that of in boys(P <0.05).The rate of snack consumption over 20% one by one is potato chips,chocolate,ice cream and nuts;The consumption rate of potato chips,chocolate,ice cream and cake in rural was higher than that of in city(P <0.05);The consumption ratio of nuts and beef jerky in city primary school students was higher than that of in rural primary school students(P <0.05);The boys in city consumed more beef jerky than the girls,the girls consumed more chocolate and nuts than the boys(P <0.05);the highest consumption frequency of snacks for the primary students in the city was the nuts,while in rural was potato chips.3.The beverage consumption rate was 96.0%,The rate of beverage consumption over 20% one by one is carbonated beverages,milk,optimal yogurt,tea beverages and juice,The rate of milk consumption in city was higher than that of in rural(P <0.05),the rate of carbonated beverages and tea beverages consumption in boys was higher than that of in girls,the rate of milk,optimal yogurt and milk tea consumption in girls was higher than that of in boys(P <0.05).4.The time of snack consumption was mainly after dinner and lunch break.5.The snacks and the beverages mainly from the parents,but the proportion of buying snacks by themselves was gradually increased with the growth of age.The snacks and the beverages which from the forefathers consumed most.6.The primary school pupils who had substantial breakfast and better knowledge about nutrition were having low-frequency of the consumption of snack and beverage;the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion1.The consumption rate of the snack and beverage for the student between grade 3 to 6 in primary school in Liaoning Province are extortionate,The rate of snack consumption over 20% one by one is potato chips,chocolate,ice cream and nuts;The rate of beverage consumption over 20% one by one is carbonated beverages,milk,optimal yogurt,tea beverages and juice.2.The time of snack consumption was mainly after dinner and lunch break.3.The most buyer are the parents at the beginning,then the proportion of buying snacks by themselves was gradually increased with the growth of age.4.The snacks and the beverages which from the forefathers consumed most5.The consumption frequency of the snacks and beverage was affected by the provider,consumption time,breakfast situation and the nutrition knowledge.
