The Study Of Functional Constipation In Disease Characteristics With Questionnaire

ObjectiveTo collect related information with functional constipation patients in our department by questionnaire,so as to analyze the disease characteristics of patients with functional constipation,and provide opinions and suggestions on the diagnosis and treatment of functional constipation.MethodsFrom March 2016 to March 2017 in Guangdong Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital of anorectal outpatient and inpatient patients with constipation were investigated by questionnaire,to complete the patient medical history,symptom information acquisition,to establish a database and analyzed using SPSS17.0 statistical software:the incidence characteristics of population characteristics,our hospital patients with constipation constipation of TCM Constitution;the patients were analyzed;a preliminary assessment of the psychological state of patients with constipation.ResultsThis study investigated a total of 129 patients aged 16~83 years old,female patients with 82 people and male patients with 47 people.It showed,men to women ratio was 1:1.74,the female patients with constipation were obviously more than male.The age distribution didn' t meet the normal distribution,there were many patients with functional constipation aged under 35 years old and 16~83 years old,it meant the functional constipation had a trend of younger age.Female patients were more than male patients under the age of 35.Patients who must use drugs or techniques to assist defecation were more than that without help from drugs or techniques.Many young people also suffered from severe conditions just like elderly patients.More than half of the patients suffered from moderate or severe illness,symptoms seriously affected life of those patients.Although constipation was a benign disease,it should arouse more attention from clinical doctors.Different defecation postures had no obvious effect on functional constipation.In terms of the evaluation of psychology,the SDS scores of male and female patients with functional constipation were 36.8387±5.3172 and 47.2727±7.7781,the SAS scores of male and female patients with functional constipation were 35.871±4.0558 and 44.6545±8.0834.The level of female patients' scores was higher than male patients',it meant that female patients were more likely to be anxious and depressed.In the aspect of TCM constitution criterion,the constitution of TCM from more to less sorted in the order:Yang-deficiency type,Wetness-heat type,Yin-deficiency type,Phlegm-wetness type,Gentleness type,Qi-deficiency type,Qi-depression type,mixed type,Blood-stasis type,Special diathesis type.The first four constitutions accounted for 69.8%of the total.Patients with functional constipation always had the problems such as Yang or Yin deficiency and pathogenic dampness,so as doctors should learn to use the herbs moving qi and removing wetness and strengthening spleen and replenishing qi.ConclusionThe incidence of functional constipation had a obvious tendency of low age.The incidence rate of female is higher than that of male.Female symptoms were serious than men.Women were more likely to suffer from anxiety,depression and other mental illness.In the constitution of TCM the functional constipation patients were more physically deficient,characterized by Yin deficiency or yang deficiency,often accompanied by damp pathogens such as damp heat and phlegm dampness.
