Relationship Of The Elderly Functional Constipation And TCM Constitution

Purpose: To analyze and explore the physical type of medicine elderlypatients with functional constipation in age,gender,disease duration,disease and syndromes correlation with the distribution of physical medicine,study of elderly patients with functional constipation TCM constitution,tostart for the elderly with functional constipation prevention and treatmentfrom the constitution to provide new ideas.Methods: using Wang Qi of TCM Constitution classification and decisiontable for standard,strictly according to the inclusion criteria to selectbetween December2012and December2013at the second affiliated hospital ofShandong University of traditional Chinese medicine and related communityexamination of300cases of patients with functional constipation in theelderly,in case of their informed consent to collect clinical data TCMConstitution investigation and assessment and finally establish a databaseto perform statistical analysis.Results:300patients with functional constipation in the elderly men in101cases,199cases of female,male to female ratio of1:1.97. TCM constitutiontypes are mainly composed of Yin deficiency,qi deficiency quality quality ofall TCM constitution type respectively27%,24.67%,followed by wet and heattransfer and Yang deficiency,10.33%and9.67%respectively,again to qidepression, blood stasis, phlegm wet mass accounted for9.33%,8.67%and8.67%respectively,gentle quality,and the rare (2%).Chinese medicine physique andage correlation was statistically significant(P<0.05),70-79years old up to50.67%of patients with Yin deficiency quality most,60-69-year-old patient(21%) with hot and humid quality most,over the age of80patients (28.33%)with qi deficiency quality the most; Correlation analysis of traditionalChinese medicine physique and gender have statistically significant (P<0.05),the female patients(66.33%)is given priority to with Yin deficiency isqualitative, more male patients (33.66%) is given priority to with deficiencyof quality; TCM constitution and course correlation was statisticallysignificant (P<0.05), and0to10years course of up to42%of patients withdeficiency of mass is given priority to,11-20years accounted for40.33%of the patients with Yin deficiency quality is given priority to, more than20years of patients (17.67%) mainly Yang deficiency quality; Chinese medicinephysique and illness weight correlation analysis was statisticallysignificant (P<0.05),most patients with moderate(59.33%)is given priority towith Yin deficiency is qualitative,mild patients(22.67%)with qi depressionquality is given priority to, severe patients (18%) is given priority to withdeficiency of mass; Constitution of traditional Chinese medicine and TCMsyndrome type distribution correlation was statistically significant(P<0.05),in the patients of the Yin deficiency bowel dryness syndrome inpatients with up to30.33%is given priority to with Yin deficiency isqualitative,gas pixu(spleen deficient)weak syndrome (27.67%) with deficiencyof mass is given priority to,intestinal solid heat syndrome (17%) with hotand humid mass is given priority to,the gut to qi depression and qi stagnationsyndrome13.67%quality is given priority to, spleen and kidney Yang deficiencysyndrome(11.33%)mainly Yang deficiency quality.Conclusion: the elderly patients with functional constipation of TCMconstitution type and age, gender, duration, severity and TCM syndrome typedistribution had statistical significance (P<0.05).
