Objective: To discuss recently clinical effect differences of popliteal cyst under arthroscopic surgery and traditional incision surgery. Methods: Retrospectively analyzing 61 popliteal cyst cases treated between October,2014 and December,2016 by Ruikang Hospital Affiliated to Guangxi College of traditional Chinese Medicine department of bone and joint,41 of those popliteal cyst patients accord with the standards this research and finished follow-up visits.Standardized Rauschning and Lindgren classification was taken on cyst before operation.21 of them were summarized as arthroscopic surgery treatment(Team A),the other 20 cases were under traditional incision surgery treatment(Team B).0 case of class0,0 case of class I,12 cases of class ?,9 cases of class ? in team A;0 case of class 0,0 case of class I,9 cases of class ?,11 cases of class ? in team B.All patients with preoperative magnetic resonance imaging,to locate within the knee complicating diseases and cyst structure. And the standardized Rauschning and Lindgren classification on popliteal cyst was taken again together with B-ultrasound at the last follow-up visit.By comparing(1)hospital stay time,(2)operation time,(3)length of incision,(4)adverse situation incidence of infect and hematoma on incision and joint,(5)Preoperative and postoperative Rauschning and Lindgren classification,(6)improvement rate of Rauschning and Lindgren classification standard returns to class 0,or class 0-I,(7)recurrence rate of cyst.Statistical data adopts from statistical software(SPSS22.0)to proceed statistical analysis. Results: None infection of surgical incision or infection and hematoma of joint happened in those patients who finished follow-up visits.Hospital stay time of Team A between all the popliteal cyst patients was:13.7±3.3 days, surgery time was:66.8±14.1 minutes;Hospital stay time of Team B was:14.3±2.9 days, surgery time was 69.7±11.6 minutes.T test was taken to compare hospital stay time and surgery time of each team.Hospital stay time(P > 0.05),surgery time(P > 0.05),therefore both were meaningless to statistics.Surgical incision length of Team A was(2.3 ±0.3)cm,Team B(8.9 ± 0.9)cm,the difference between them was meaningful to statistics because(P < 0.05).The last follow-up visit to patient after surgery using Rauschning and Lindgren classification and B-ultrasound retest,13 cases were class 0 in Team A,5 cases were class I,3 cases were class ?,0 case was class ?;6 cases were class 0 in Team B,5 cases were class I,9 cases were class ?,0 case was class ?.The difference between preoperative and postoperative were meaningful in statistics because(P <0.01).Improvement rate of recovery to class 0?class 0~?was(62%)?(86%)in Team A,(30%)?(55%)in Team B.The difference between this two teams were meaningful in statistics because(P < 0.05).1 case relapsed in Team A,2 cases relapsed in Team B,the difference was meaningless to statistics because(P > 0.05).Conclusion: Arthroscopic surgery treatment is good recent curative effect to popliteal cyst,it has not only minimally invasive, but also disposes the primary disease at the same time.Postoperative recurrence of popliteal cyst needs further research.
