Objectives1.To investigate compassion fatigue of nurses in Infectious Diseases Hospitals2.To analysis compassion fatigue of different background information nurses in Infectious Diseases Hospitals.3.To describe the Occupational Stress of the infectious diseases hospital nurses4.To analysis Occupational Stress of different background information nurses in Infectious Diseases Hospitals.5.To explore the relationship between the compassion fatigue and the Occupational Stress of nurses in Infectious Diseases Hospitals.MethodsUsing convenience sampling method,a total of 303 nurses was recruited from the Second Hospital of Nanjing(Jiangsu Province Hospital for Infectious Diseases)and the Chest Hospital of Nanjing(Nanjing Institute of Tuberculosis)and was investigated by compassion fatigue scale and Occupational Stress Scale.Results1.The mean score of compassion fatigue was 2.88±0.26,They were reported a moderate level.In six dimensions,negative behavior highest score,followed by apathy,doubt the ability,enthusiasm loss,loss of morale,mental tension.Ages,marital status,seniority,professional title,education level,position,night shifts every month,the level of support from the families could significantly affect compassion fatigue average(P<0.05).It does not have significance difference to compassion fatigue or nurse who had different labor relations,different working time in present department,different incomes,different bonuses,different sleep(P>0.05).Infectious diseases hospital nurses in good health,the body without symptoms,regular exercise,dietary laws had lower compassion fatigue scores than that who were in physical condition,body symptoms,never participate in physical exercise,eating disorders,the difference there was statistically significant(P<0.05).Worried about the protective measures against the damage of nurses had lower loss of passion(P<0.05).Nurse worried about being infected by a virus or disease had higher scores in the passion lost dimension and negative behavior(P<0.05).With the increase of the number of occupational exposure,compassion fatigue and loss of morale scores increased(P<0.05).Satisfaction with the treatment of occupational exposure to infectious disease hospital nurses had lower scores of ability doubt(P<0.05).2.The total score of occupational stress is 39-131,the average score is 92.53±19.58,in moderate stress level.The workload and time distribution is the first reason of pressure source,in 35 single problem investigation,living in low of wages and other benefits,low social status,frequent shifts,worry the accident,the patient died suddenly.There were significant differences about pressure in infectious diseases hospital nurse of different ages,length of service,professional titles,educational levels,the working hours of the department,marital status,the level of support the families(P<0.05).The difference was statistically significant that the total stress scores of infectious diseases hospital nurses of different sleep,diet,whether body symptoms,physical condition,occupational exposure,post-exposure the level of support of the hospital,fearing damage protection,the fear of being infected cases(P<0.05).Occupational stress in different income satisfaction,labor relations,department significant differences(P<0.05).There is no significant difference in different income levels,Bonuses,with or without administrative duties,whether the old and new nurse matched,physical exercise frequency,shifts every month(P>0.05).3.There were significant positive correlations between compassion fatigue and occupational stress(P<0.05).We found that the main factors were professional and career issues,workload and time pressure.Enhance physical exercise,improve support system for occupational exposure,the strong support from families can relieve compassion fatigue.Conclusions1.Compassion fatigue of Infectious Diseases Hospital nurse was at the middle level.The highest score of negative behavior prompted managers to take measures to mobilize the enthusiasm of the infectious diseases hospital nurse.2.Physical exercise,Satisfied with the support of the hospital to nurse who had occurred occupational exposure,the family support were the main factors of Infectious Diseases Hospital nurse compassion fatigue.3.Pressure of Infectious Diseases Hospital nurse was in a moderate level of stress,time allocation and workload which is the leading cause of stress source.4.The ability to doubt,fear damage protection,physical condition,age,sleep,Departments,income satisfaction were the main factors of the Infectious Diseases Hospital Nurses5.There were significant positive correlations between compassion fatigue and occupational stress.Professional and career issues,workload and time pressure were the main factors.
