ObjectivesThis paper introduces the new understanding of the level of compassion fatigue,coping style and resilience of oncology nurse,analyzes the relevant factors affecting they three,and probes into the relationship between they three.The purpose of this study is to enrich the research content of oncology nurse,and to provide theoretical support for maintaining the mental health of the professionals.In order to stabilize the nursing team,improve the coping ability and resilience of nurses,and prevent and reduce the occurrence of compassion fatigue,the specific measures should be formulated for tumor nursing managers to guide them.MethodsUsing stratified sampling method,426 clinical nurses were selected from a cancer hospital in Henan Province from December 2018 to June 2019,and a questionnaire survey was carried out.The survey tools are as follows: Pro QOL,SCSQ,CD-RISC.Epidata3.0 and spss22.0 were used for data input and analysis.The general situation,the distribution of the degree of compassion fatigue and the adoption of coping style were described by frequency and percentage.The level of compassion fatigue,coping style and resilience of the subjects were indicated by mean and standard deviation.The differences of different demographic characteristics were analyzed by chi square test,one-way ANOVA and independent sample t-test.Pearson correlation was used the relationship among the three factors was analyzed,and the related variables influencing the degree of compassion fatigue were analyzed by using ordered logistic regression.Results1.Compassion fatigue,coping style and resilience of oncology nurse85.95% of nurses had compassion fatigue,26.90% of nurses had mild,32.62% of nurses had moderate,and 26.43% of nurses had severe.Among them,the scores of empathy satisfaction(34.22±7.51),burnout(25.40±7.38)and secondary trauma stress(26.91±7.30)were moderate.Among the respondents,47.14% adopted positive coping style,and the selection trend of coping style was not optimistic.The score of positive dimensions was(1.39±0.29),slightly lower than that of negative coping.The scores ofresilience,tenacity,self-discipline and optimism were(60.04 ±14.65),(29.83±7.93),(19.58±4.76)and(11.62±2.91)respectively.2.The influencing factors of compassion fatigue,coping style and resilience of oncology nurseThere were significant differences in compassion fatigue among nurses in different departments,ages,working years,professional titles,positions,education background,children's status,family's working attitude towards themselves,the number of night shifts and working hours(P < 0.05).Different age,working years,title,position,labor relationship,family attitude,number of night shift,working hours and monthly income have different effects on coping style of oncology nurse(P < 0.05).Different departments,gender,age,working years,education background,professional title,position,labor relations,children's status,family attitude,number of night shift and working hours had significant difference in scores of resilience of oncology nurse(P < 0.05).3.The correlation among compassion fatigue,coping style and resilience of oncology nurseIn compassion fatigue,compassion satisfaction showed a positive relationship with resilience and positive coping(r = 0.319,0.120,P < 0.05),a negative relationship with negative coping(r =-0.109,P <0.05),and a negative relationship with burnout and secondary trauma stress with resilience and positive coping(r =-0.318,-0.117,-0.323,-0.117,P < 0.05),showing a positive relationship with negative coping(r = 0.108,0.174,P < 0.05).There was a positive correlation between psychological resilience and positive coping style(r = 0.168,P < 0.05),and a negative correlation between psychological resilience and negative coping style(r =-0.211,P < 0.05).Conclusions1.Compassion fatigue of oncology nurse is in the middle level and the incidence is high.Therefore,efforts should be made to improve the psychological health level of oncology nurse.Among them,working years,children's status,number of night shifts,working hours and family's attitude towards their own work have significant effects on the compassion fatigue of oncology nurse.2.The coping style of oncology nurse are slightly less positive than negative.Therefore,it is necessary to enhance the psychological stress ability of nurses,improve the ability to recognize and correct the negative coping style.The influencing factors of coping style of oncology nurse include education background,professional title,working time and family attitude.3.The resilience of oncology nurse is in the middle level,which needs to be improved.Their departments,gender,age,working years,education background,professional title,position,labor relations,children's status,working hours and family attitude have a great impact on the resilience.4.The coping style and resilience adopted by nurses in oncology department have an impact on compassion fatigue.At the same time,resilience has an impact on coping style,and there is a correlation between them.Therefore,we should pay attention to the improvement of resilience and individual coping ability of nurses in oncology department,so as to reduce the occurrence and development of compassion fatigue.
