This dissertation consists of two parts. The first part is the study on chemical constituents of Ardisia faberi Hemsl. And the second one use thin layer chromatography(TLC) and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) to establish and promote the quality standards of Diyu Shengbai tablet.Ardisia faberi Hemsl., belongs to genus Ardisa(Myrsinaceae), The medicinal part is the root or the whole plant. It has dispel wind and heat, relieve muscular spasm and relieve sore throat, and swelling effects. It is used as folk medicine to treat wind-heat type common cold, cough, pharyngeal swelling and traumatic injury. There are few or no articles reported at home and abroad about the chemical constituents of Adisia faberi Hemsl.. In order to find the basis of the active substance, the chemical composition of the plant is studied systematically. Compounds are isolated and purified by the normal phase silica gel, sephadex LH-20, MCI GEL CHP 20 and ODS-A-HG packing material. Their structures are identified by the methods of MS, 'H-NMR,13C-NMR combined with physicochemical property. Eleven compounds are isolated and their structures are evaluated as Bauerenol (1), Oleic acid(2), (Z)-10-Heneicosenoic acid(3), Grasshopper ketone(4), Bergenin(5), Mallonanoside A(6), Ethyl gallate(7), Astilbin(8), Quercitrin(9), Ardisiacrispin B(10), Ardicrenin(11). Compounds 2,7,9,10 and 11 are isolated from plant for the first time; compounds 3, 4,6,8 are isolated from Ardisia Swartz for the first time.Diyu Shengbai tablet is made from Sanguisorba officinalis L.. It can cure the leukopenia, to elevated white blood cells. In this experiment, TLC is used to identify the Gallic acid and Ziyuglycoside I, and HPLC wavelength swithing method is used to simultaneous determination of Gallic acid sand Ziyuglycoside I in Diyu Shengbai tablet. The TLC spots are clear, and the method is simple with strong specificity. The calibration curve for Gallic acid is linear in the range of 20.50?184.5 ?g·ml-1, and for Ziyuglycoside I is linear in the range of 20.70?207.0 ?g·ml-1. The average recovery of Gallic acid is 100.0% (RSD 0.58%), and Ziyuglycoside I is 100.1%(RSD 1.18%). The quality standard established in this research is rapid, curate, and can be used to control the quality of Diyu Shengbai tablet.
