Objective:The research aims at observing the positive reaction rate and manifestation of balance acupuncture xitong point in osteoarthritis of the knee sufferers and tries to analyze its universality and regularity to reference for xitong point location and selection principle.Method:Consecutive cases of sampling method:continuously collected cases match the inclusion criteria in the investigation centers from the starting date,until the number of cases up to315.Observe changes in the xitong point of315knee Osteoarthritis patients by cross—section survey.1List of Symptoms and signsGrade the positive action of point according to the degree of variation.Grade of point self discomfort, none(0mark),slight(1mark),moderate(2mark),severe(3mark).Grade of variation of skin, color changes of skin,variation of subcutaneous tissue is none(0mark),slightly variation(1mark),obviously variation(2mark).2Visual Analogue Scale/Score(VAS)Measure the tenderness of xitong point and involving adjacent area by a10-cm visual analogue scale ranging from0(no pain)to10(the worst pain ever)then compare the marks of healthy side with affected side.Convert the marks to the data of positive or negative then calculate the positive rate then Compare the marks of healthy side with affected side.Result:1Positive rate of xitong pointThe positive rate of xitong point is80%among315patients. There is66.35%positive reaction in the healthy side while the affected side is66.98%.2positive manifestations of xitong pointThe main positive manifestation is tenderness and its number is up to64.44%.Others manifestation positive rate is as following:23.17%of Self-conscious;5.08%of color changes of skin;11.11%of variation of skin;22.22%of variation of sub cutaneous tissue.3Comparison of tenderness between xitong point and its surrounding neighboring areaThe positive rate of xitong point on healthy side is62.86%,while its surrounding neighboring area is20.95%.The positive rate of xitong point on affected side is63.17%,while its surrounding neighboring area is21.59%.Conclusion:1There is positive reaction in xitong point among koa patients,and its positive rate is80%.2The main positive manifestation is tenderness among koa patients and its number is up to64.44%3The positive rate of xitong points is more higher than their surrounding neighboring areas in pressing pain, so the pressing pain marks the points location.
