Objects:To evaluate the improvement of fatigue degree, anxiety and depression state and the life quality, after the patients with chronic fatigue syndrome treated by the therapy which combined the modified long snake moxibustion and regular acupuncture. And discussed whether the combined therapy are feasible and Security for CFS as well as provide new ideas and methods in the promotion of clinical application value.Methods:72 patients with chronic fatigue syndrome of spleen-kidney yang deficiency syndrome were enrolled from the preventive treatment of disease center in Sichuan Provincial Hospital of traditional Chinese medicine during March 2015-December 2015, and randomly divided into two groups. The combined therapy of the modified long snake moxibustion and regular acupuncture was applied in the treatment group, while the control group was only given the regular acupuncture. The frontal acupoints (DU20?RN6?ST36?KI3) were chosen on Mondays and Fridays, while the Back-shu acupoints (BL18?BL20?BL23) on Wednesdays. After the regular acupuncture treatment for 30 minutes, the treatment group would accept the modified long snake moxibustion treatment on Du Meridian and the first line of Bladder Meridian for 45 minutes, while The control group was given conventional acupuncture with the same acupoints, needling direction and depth, operating method. Both groups accepted the treatment 3 times a week. The Fatigue Severity scale(FSS), the Somatic and Psychological Health Report(SPHERE), Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS) and Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA), the MOS item short from health survey(SF-36) were applied in assessment before and after treatment, as well as a month follow up.Results:1. Before the treatment, the statistical analysis of the base-line profiles (likeage? sex?duration, etc)shows no statistically significant difference(P>0.05). which means the data of two sets of groups were balanced and comparable.2. Before the treatment, the scale integration of two groups are comparable in the FSS?SPHERE?SDS?HAMA and SF-36 except the Role-Emotional(RE).3. The score comparison between two groups after treatment:except SF-36, the score integration of treatment group in the FSS?SPHERE?SDS?HAMA was better than ordinary therapy group, showing significant difference(P<0.05).4. The comparison of score improvement between two groups before and after treament:the difference of improvement score in FSS, the Vitality(VT), Social Function(SF), Role-Physical(RP) of SF-36 of the two groups is statistically significant(P <0.05), while not statistically significant in SPHERE, SDS, HAMA, as well as the others in the SF-36 scale(P>0.05).5. Score comparison within the group before, after treatment and one month follow-up:in the treatment group, the scale score of FSS?SPHERE?SDS?HAMA and SF-36 has a statistically significant difference (P<0.05); while which of the control group in FSS?SPHERE?SDS?HAMA and SF-36 except Role-Emotional(RE), and Social Function(SF) has a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).6. The score conparion of two groups one month follow-up:two groups exist difference in the FSS, SPHERE?SDS?HAMA?Mental Health (MH), Vitality(VT), Role-Emotional(RE), Social Function(SF) of SF-36 (P< 0.05), which means the treatment group was better than the control group, while the difference of the other four dimensions of SF-36 are not statistically significant(P>0.05).7. The comparison of score improvement between two groups one month follow-up:the difference of improvement score in FSS?SPHERE?the Vitality(VT), Social Function(SF)of the two groups had statistically significant (P<0.05), while not statistically significant in SDS?HAMA, as well as the others in the SF-36 scale(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.The modified long snake moxibustion combined with routine acupuncture therapy was significantly better than a simple routine acupuncture therapy in relieving CFS patients with fatigue syndrome.2.The improved long snake moxibustion combined with routine acupuncture therapy in anxiety?depression and overall quality of life improvement had no advantage, but it had an advantage in the aspects of improving the Vitality of CFS patients, improving the CFS patients Social Function.3.Although the improved the long snake moxibustion combined with routine acupuncture therapy could not effectively improve Somatic and Psychological Health of CFS with symptoms, it had an advantages in Somatic and Psychological Health during one month follow-up.
