A Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Functional Constipation (Deficiency Of Both Qi And Blood Type)with Xumi Mixture

Objective:To explore the mechanism of the Xumi mixture on the treatment of functional constipation (deficiency of both qi and blood type) by observing the clinical therapeutic efficacy and security. Finally, provide a new train of thought and treatment method on the treatment.Methods:Collect 40 patients meeting the inclusive criteria to the Digestion Department of internal medicine specialist clinic in mianyang hospital of T.C.M in April 2014? February 2015, and randomly divide into the treatment group and the control group, each group,20 cases. The treatment group was given Xumi mixture, while the control group was given Macrogol 4000 Powders. The course of the two groups was 4 weeks. Then observe changes of symptoms before and after treatment of symptoms, compare the curative effect before and after treatment and safety between the two groups.Results:1. After treatment for 4 weeks, the total effect rate of the treatment group was 85.0%, while the control group was 60.0%. The total effect rate comparison between the two groups had statistical significance (P< 0.05), and it indicated that the curative effect of the treatment group was better than the control group. There were differences in symptoms scores of the treatment group and the control group before and after treatment (P<0.05), and it showed that the improvement of the symptoms in treatment group was better than the control group.2. In bowel problems, defecating time, excrement characters, defecate time interval, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, there were no statistically significant difference (P>0.05), the two groups had similar efficacy in improving those symptoms. However it had statistically significant difference in short of spirit and reluctant to speak, lack of appetite and numb to react, body tired fatigue, fall bilge feeling (P< 0.05). Comparing the two groups of improving symptoms efficacy, It can be concluded that the treatment group and control group could effectively improve the main symptoms, but the curative effect of the treatment group is better than the control group on the secondary symptoms.3. The patients in the treatment group during the treatment had no bad experience, while in the control group there were 2 patients who experienced mild abdominal pain and diarrhea which had no influence on continuous treatment. The related safety indexes of patients in the two groups had no obvious changes.4. After 4 weeks of treatment, through following up for 1 month about effective patients,3 cases recurred in the treatment group, while 7 cases recurred in the control group. And the recurrence rate of the two groups individually were 17.6% and 58.3%. The comparison between the treatment group and the control group had statistical significance (P< 0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of Xumi mixture on the treatment of functional constipation (deficiency of qi and blood type) was reliable. Moreover it could reduce the recurrence. It deserved further research and clinical promotion.
