Objective:In order to investigate the pain management basic knowledge, pain service attitude, pain knowledge acquirement approach and pain knowledge learning demand of nurses in oncology department of five grade III and class A hospitals in Changchun, the thesis comprehends their existing deficiencies, and systematically analyzes the main factors influencing the pain management basic knowledge and attitude, hoping it could provide a scientific foundation for strengthening pain knowledge training on nursing staff, and promoting continuous improvement of pain nursing management;Methods:In the study, the descriptive research method is adopted, utilizing the Chinese questionnaire in ‘Knowledge and Attitude Survey Regarding Pain'(KASRP) translated and revised by Tong Yingge, etc. in April 2008. In practice, the study randomly selects 175 nurses in oncology department of those five grade III and class A hospitals in Changchun, Jilin for questionnaire survey based on the Cluster sampling method. Then after the informed consent is read, 175 questionnaires are released, and in return 171 effective questionnaires are recycled. Further more, the descriptive analysis, variance analysis and stepwise regression methods are all employed for analyzing and comparing the collected data. Epidata3.1 software is applied to establish the database. Also SPSS17.0 is utilized for statistical analysis on those data.Result:(1) Based on the 40 items of the questionnaire in “The Knowledge and Attitude Survey Regarding Pain” collected from 171 nurses, the right range is from 12 to 38 items, counting 30%- 95% of the total with the grand average of 20.5±4.3.(2) There is no statistical value on the questionnaire from nurses of different age, different educational degree or different professional title(P>0.05).(3) The statistical value lies in the questionnaire from the nurses with different working experience(P<0.05).(4) It is shown from the analysis of the various aspects that the initial education degree and the working experience of the oncology nurses are the two main factors that influence the pain management knowledge and their attitude.Conclusion:(1) With the low percentage of the questionnaire “The Knowledge and Attitude Survey Regarding Pain” collected from the nurses in oncology department of five grade III and class A hospitals in Changchun, Jilin, their level of the basic pain knowledge needs to be further improved.(2) There is deviation in the nurses' pain management attitude and pain management practice.(3) The main reasons that influence their gaining high percentage are their initial educational degree and their working experience.(4) We need to intense the training of the nurses in oncology department, especially on the fundamental knowledge of pain management.The design of the training courses needs to be more systematized, comprehend, profound, and personalized with all rounds of training formations, aiming to improve the training efficiency, to promote the pain management ability of the nurses in oncology department, to better the pain management attitude of the nurses, and all in all, to enhance the pain treatment effects of the patients.
