Objective:To discusses the cultivation of the core ability of anesthesia specialty nurses and construct the core-competency based curriculum of nurse anesthetists.Methods: Theoretical analysis, literature review and expert consultation were used to formulate the draft of the core-competency based curriculum of nurse anesthetists,combining with the specific content of the core ability of nurse anesthetists and the present situation of the domestic and foreign existing curriculum of nurse anesthesia.The Delphi method was used to established the content of the core-competency based curriculum of nurse anesthetists.Results: There were two rounds of Delphi consultation with 15 experts. The response rate of the first-round Delphi consulting questionnaire was 100% while the second-round was 93.3%. The effective questionnaire of two rounds was both 100%.The creditability value was 0.77, and the P value of coordination coefficient test was less than 0.05. There were 59 recommendations from the experts, and 52 were accepted. The core-competency based curriculum includes these contents: 1.It is post-service education. The training duration is 12 months, with 922 class hours(classroom teaching: practice=0.77:1). 2.Eight courses are included: anesthesia pharmacological, airway management, management and liquid transfusion,physiological and pain nursing, nursing and anesthesia theory, anesthesia, anesthesia monitoring and nursing, anesthesia and monitoring equipment. 3.Each course contains four primary elements:teaching/learning objectives, teaching/learning content(knowledge dimension,skills dimension and attitude dimension),teaching/learning activities and feedback/assessment procedures.Conclusion: The establishment of the core-competency based curriculum of nurse anesthetists is scientific. It refers to the education standards of International Federation of Nurse Anesthetists. And it was combined with the social background of China.The researcher used the Delphi consultation to build the curriculum. The core-competency based curriculum is post-career education and the combination of the credits system and class hours system guarantees the feasibility and flexibility of the education. It also complies with the trend of the development of the professional nursing education in our country. Three dimensions included in each course shows the innovation of the research. The researcher pays attention to nursing humanities education and improve the position of "attitude" in this paper. This study will provide reference for the construction of courses of professional nursing education in China and promote the development of nursing.
