[Purpose] The purpose of this study is to establish the core competence index of education nurses,and use Delphi method to calculate the weight of the indicators at all levels,test its reliability and validity,so as to provide reference for the evaluation of the core competence of nurse educators.[Methods](1)Literature Review methodThrough the Chinese and foreign databases and website resources to collect domestic and foreign relevant information about education nurses,focus on the domestic and foreign core competence theory and the research related to the core competence of nurses,draft the preliminary framework of core competence indicators of nurse educators.(2)Interview with insidersBased on the interview outline,20 trained nurses,5 education nurses and 8 nursing education experts were interviewed in a semi-structured way to understand the current training situation in the sample hospitals and the education training needs of nursing staff.The indicators were improved according to the expert opinions.(3)Delphi methodA total of 28 experts from Zhejiang,Henan and Guangdong provinces were selected,including 9 experts who participated in the training of education nurses and 7 experts who served as evaluation judges of education nurses.E-mail and questionnaire star are used to send out questionnaires.When the experts’ suggestions tend to be consistent,consultation was completed.(4)Questionnaire surveyGuangdong Province and Zhejiang Province,were selected to carry out the survey by combining convenient sampling and snowball sampling.Before conducting the formal survey,the quality is controlled through pre survey and training of investigators.A total of 350 questionnaires were collected in this survey.After cleaned the invalid data,and finanlly 298 of them were included to test the reliability and validity of the core competence index of nurse educator.(5)Statistical methodsExcel 2013 and Spss25.0 were used to sort out and analyze the collected data,and the index weight was calculated by Delphi scores.[Results]The positive coefficient of the two rounds of expert consultation is 89% and 100%,the authoritative coefficient fluctuates in the range of 0.84-0.94,and the coordination coefficient is 0.243.The core competence index of nurse educator was established,including 8 first level indexes,20 second level indexes and 53 third level indexes.The first level indexes are teaching ability,clinical nursing ability,planning education activity ability,professional quality,application of nursing education procedure ability,critical thinking ability,professional development ability and interpersonal communication ability.The corresponding weight values are 0.1326,0.1298,0.1269,0.1258,0.1224,0.1218,0.1212 and 0.1195,respectively.The reliability and validity of the core competence index of nurse educator were tested.The results showed that t value fluctuated in the range of 5.865-18.983 in item analysis,P < 0.05;Cronbach’s α coefficient of the first level index fluctuated in the range of 0.902-0.962,and the overall Cronbach’s was 0.902-0.962.The coefficient of α is 0.990,the first index CVR fluctuates is in the range of 0.78-0.99,the total CVR is 0.89,the KMO value in factor analysis is 0.955.Finanlly,eight common factors are extracted,and the cumulative variance contribution rate is 69.966%.[Conclusions]Based on Delphi method,this study constructs the core competence index of nurse educator,which includes 8 first level indexes,20 second level indexes and 53 third level indexes.The reliability and validity of the indicators were tested,which provided a reference for the evaluation of core competence of education nurses.[Innovation and deficiency]Innovation: According to the theory of core competence and role,the index of core competence of nurse educator is established,which fills in the research gap in this field and provides standardized tools for the evaluating the clinical nurse educator’s core competence ability.Deficiency: In order to improve the practicability of the index,the evaluation criteria,methods and tools of the index need to be described in detail.The expression of the index needs to be further standardized.Affected by the epidemic situation,the sample in the survey may have some bias.
