A Systematic Evaluation On The Status And Effects Of The Residency Training In Fujian Province

Objective: to investigate the status and effects of the Residency Training in Fujian Province, explore strengths and weaknesses of the evaluation object, and proposed Evidence-based policy recommendations, provide theoretical reference for the adjustment of the policy and reform.Methods: We used literature analysis and questionnaire survey to investigate the status and effects of the Residency Training in Fujian Province. Statistical method were used to analyze the results of questionnaire survey. We also used interview method to investigate the views of all the stakeholders for status, effects and existing problems of the Residency Training.Result: At present, the main effects of the Residency Training in Fujian Province including: Training organization structure is complete, related supporting policies gradually implement and run steady, training base construction tend to be standardization and scale gradually, the management system of training process carries out smoothly and has strict quality control, the preliminary effect of training come out, structure-process-structure layer of training can effectively carry on to adapt to changes in the external environment. The main problems of the Residency Training including: related policy for supporting the teachers is lacking at this stage, training standards produced are not agree with clinical actual condition, the heterogeneity of different training bases is real, the quality and normalization of the assessment work and training process management remains to be improved, the support and motivation for student is insufficient in the process of training, staff that training propaganda education work is absent, clinical learning and scientific research ability of students are marginalized, training effect have not yet been achieved homogeneity.Conclusion: At present, the Residency Training in Fujian Province is to design an integrated system and carry out smoothly, the relevant supporting policies effectively guarantee the stability and the long-term effect of the system, the preliminary effect of training come out. But there are still some weaknesses which should be strengthened and perfected in system operation. Departments at all levels of the Residency Training should be committed to perfect training supporting policies, strengthen the construction of training base, standard management and evaluation in training process, strengthen the support and motivation for students in training, and put the policy propaganda work into daily teaching, attach importance to the nonclinical project training in the rotary cultivation. Finally, departments at all levels of the Residency Training be committed to explore “the social residency” training mode, aimed to further improve the homogeneity of training effect.
