| Objective: To observe the the clinical curative effect of Xuanfei Pingchuan Decoction on acute exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(AECOPD),to explore the effectiveness and safety of the drug in the treatment of AECOPD, and to provide scientific basis for its clinical application, to lay a good foundation for the development of new drugs and apply for a patent, at the same time, to provide a new Chinese herbal medicine for patients with AECOPD.Methods: From January 2014 to June 2015,we collected 80 patients which have got AECOPD,then the 80 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each group had 40 people.The control group received conventional western medicine treatment such as anti-infection,suppressing cough and calming panting and so on,the treatment group received Xuanfei Pingchuan Decoction on the basis of the control group for 14 days.Then observed the changes of TCM symptom scores,pulmonary function, blood gas analysis,blood routine and safety indices before and after treatment.Results: 1.The total effective rate of treatment group was higher than that of the control group,the difference between the two groups was significant(P<0.05). 2.In TCM symptom,compared with the control group,the clinical symptoms such as cough,sputum,asthma,chest tightness and pectoralgia in treatment group improved significantly(P<0.05).Secondary symptoms comparison between the two groups,in improving abdominal distension,constipation,cyanosis,rhonchus and moist rales,the treatment group was better than that in control group(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences in improving anorexia(P>0.05). 3.In pulmonary function,compared with the control group,patients' pulmonary function such as FEV1.0/FVC,FEV1.0% in treatment group increased significantly(P<0.05),VC% and MVV% were also higher but the differences showed no statistically significant(P>0.05).4.In the blood gas analysis,compared with the control group, pressure of oxygen(Pa O2)and blood oxygen saturation(Sa O2)in treatment group increased significantly(P<0.05),pressure of carbon dioxide(Pa CO2)had a decrease, but it had no significant difference(P>0.05). 5.In the anti-infection,compared with the control group,the white blood cell count(WBC)and the percentage of neutrophils(NE%)decrease,lymphocyte ratio(LY%) increased relatively,the differences between the two groups were significant(P<0.05). 6.Liver function, kidney function and other indicators of all selected cases, the changes were not statistically significant before and after treatment.Conclusion: 1.Xuanfei Pingchuan Decoction can improve the clinical symptoms in patients with AECOPD and improve the pulmonary function,blood gas analysis,inflammation indices and it is harmless to liver and kidney function,so Xuanfei Pingchuan Decoction on AECOPD is effective and safe. 2.COPD treated from Phlegm Stagnation is a more effective treatment.Combined treatment of various methods to Lung is better effective. |
