Background Coronary heart disease is a serious threat to human health. It is found that CHD(coronary heart disease) is a chronic inflammatory disease of coronary atherosclerosis, and inflammatory factor plays an very important role in the process and development of atherosclerosis. As an new inflammation factor, Lipoproteinassociated phospholipase A2(Lp-PLA2) is a independent risk factor of CHD,involved in various stages of atherosclerosis. Objective In order to investigate the correlation of the levels of plasma lipoproteinassociated phospholipase A2 with he severity of coronary heart disease and coronary artery lesions range.Methods181 cases of patients who underwent coronary angiography in Department of Cardiovascular in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from June 2015 to November 2015 were enrolled as object of study,in which 140 cases of patients with coronary heart disease were divided into study group and 41 cases of patients with normal coronary angiography were chosen as control group. The patients in the study group were divided into three subgroups by different clinical types of CHD:acute myocardial infarction group, unstable angina group and stable angina group, three subgroups by the number of coronary artery lesions:single coronary lesion group, double branch lesions group and triple coronary artery lesions group. The levels of Lp-PLA2 were detected by ELISA method.Result The levels of Lp-PLA2 of acute myocardial infarction group, unstable angina group and stable angina group were respectively( 158.82±16.22) ng/ml,(123.19±16.87)ng/ml,(102.71±17.20)ng/ml,which were higher than that of control group(81.32±18.63)ng/ml,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).And the levels of Lp-PLA2 of acute myocardial infarction group, unstable angina group and stable angina group also had statistical differences(P<0.05).The levels of Lp-PLA2 of single coronary lesion group, double branch lesions group and triple coronary artery lesions group were respectively(107.26±19.30)ng/ml,(131.65±16.74)ng/ml,(162.59±18.82)ng/ml,which were higher than that of control group(81.32±18.63)ng/ml,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).And the levels of Lp-PLA2 of single coronary lesion group, double branch lesions group and triple coronary artery lesions group also had statistical differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of Lp-PLA2 are positively correlated with the severity of coronary heart disease and coronary artery lesions range,so has a certain significance for the prediction of CHD.
