然uiyang',然uixue' were the latest apple varieties of Northwest A & F University.In order to accelerate the application of two new varieties,it is important to understand the suitable cultivation area,Therefor,this study focused on the main apple producing areas of the Loess Plateau and selected eight representative demonstration sites.In 2016,the phenophase of 然uiyang' and 然uixue' was observed in these areas,the appearance quality,intrinsic quality and storage property were made a comparative analysis,which provided a technical basis for the suitable cultivation area.The main results were as follows:1.Because of the differences of altitude,latitude in the main apple producing areas of the Loess Plateau,the annual average temperature was very different.The annual mean temperature of the eight demonstration sites ranged from 8.6? to 13.9?.The biggest difference was in Lingtai County,Gansu Province and Lingbao County,Henan Province,which differed 5.3?.The difference of flowering period of the 然uiyang' and 然uixue' was respectively on 19 d and 17 d in different regions,and the fruit development period was respectively on 170-175 d and 180-185 d.2.然uiyang' as a red late maturing varieties was well colored in the areas of altitude 660 m-1320 m,but the fruit quality was different.In the area above 850 m,the coloring performance is more prominent.The fruit hardness in different areas was not very different,but with the increase of altitude,fruit acidity was obviously increased and the storage property was improved.3.然uixue' as a yellow late maturing varieties,performed high pile,clean surface and so on in different regions.With the increase of altitude,the fruit could be flushed with red face and the appearance was more bright.With the increase of altitude,The fruit hardness gradually Increased,the acidity increased significantly,the storage increased and the flavor became strong.4.然uiyang'varieties showed a wide range of adaptability in the Loess Plateau,and the fruit performanced more excellent especially in the area above 850m;Ruixue varieties was suitable for a wider range in the Loess Plateau area,and the fruit also performanced goodin the lower altitude(590 m).
