With the improvement of our material life and the acceleration of urbanization,the appearance of our city has changed dramatically.We have gradually stepped into the stage of urban development emphasizing "people-oriented" from the early stage of urban development,emphasizing the development of material space.Therefore,our focus on urban public space has shifted from "space" to "public".The complex function of the urban commercial complex has made it carry the important daily activities of the citizens,and its public value is high.As one of the important parts of the urban public space,the outer space is indispensable to the research of its spatial public nature.This paper studies the interactive relationship between the external space of the commercial complex and the theoretical background of the public domain theory of Habermas,a western sociologist,and sums up the interaction between human and the external space of the commercial complex to the study of the public nature of space.By analyzing the characteristics of public nature from the sociological perspective,the characteristics of spatial publicity are put forward in the perspective of architecture,and the present situation of human behavior in the external space of the Chengdu commercial complex is investigated and analyzed.Then,from the perspective of spatial attributes,the external space of the commercial complex can be analyzed to meet the people's day.Finally,it summarizes the design method of the external space of Chengdu commercial complex under the guidance of "publicity".The aim is to create a "shared" and "popular" commercial complex external space for the public.The first chapter mainly expounds the background,purpose and significance of the research.Then,through the retrieval of the domestic and foreign public and the related research of the external space of the commercial complex,the research methods and clues are analyzed and summarized.Finally,the research framework of this paper is drawn.The second chapter describes and introduces the theory of communality in the field of sociology and urban architecture,and defines the scope and composition of the research on the external space of the commercial complex,as well as the origin and definition of the public space of the commercial complex.Finally,it analyzes the public function elements of the external space of the commercial complex and its spatial public nature.The third chapter,from the two elements of public nature in space(man and material space)as the starting point of the study,analyzes the public's behavior characteristics in the external space of the commercial complex and the analysis of how the external entity space is helpful to the common common expression from the angle of space property.The outer space of the commercial plaza is a case study of how publicity is reflected in the external space.The fourth chapter is the theoretical analysis and case study of the public nature of the outer space through the third chapter,and puts forward the principle and design method of the external space design of the public oriented commercial complex.
