The complexity and tightness of the pilot's work has been increased for the fundamental change of operating system in the aircraft. In addition, for pilots, the working space is small, the cabin contains less oxygen, radiation and noise are heavier, and the attendance time is long, furthermore they often suffer from complex and bad weather. With the combined effects of the factors,it goes without saying that the work pressure of pilots is increasing. While the relationship between pilots' work pressure and safety performance is defined, the best working stress status are sought to achieve the best personal safety performance. As a result, the pressure on the pilots is relieved, the accident rate is reduced, and their safety performance is improved. This is an important issue for airlines and individual pilots. In this study,a relationship model for pilots' work stress and safety performance is built.Correlation analysis among work stress, safety performance,self-efficacy,and coping strategies and hierarchical multivariate regression analysis of work stress and safety performance were conducted to verify the relationship model.Through the method of level regression, the mediating effect of self-efficacy on work stress and safety performance was verified, and the adjustment effect of coping strategies on the relationship between work stress and safety performance was verified. The results show that work itself, career development and organizational factors have a positive impact on safety compliance, safety participation and safety results, while interpersonal and work--family conflict are negatively related to safety compliance, safety participation and safety results. The relationship between overall working stress and overall safety performance satisfies the relation of quadratic function,The relationship curve is inverted U-shaped.As pilots' work pressure increases, safety performance increases. When the pilot's working pressure is 2.68,the optimal value of safety performance is 4.84,and when the working pressure is more than 2.68,the safety performance decreases. The pilot's self-efficacy has a significant mediator effect between work stress and safety performance, work stress and self-efficacy are positively correlated, self efficacy and safety performance are positively correlated too.Coping strategies play a significant role in regulating the relationship between work stress and safety performance. The inverse u-curve relationship between work stress and safety performance is strengthened by positive coping strategies, but attenuated by negative coping strategies.
