Study On The "Informal Space" Of The Old Block In Chengdu

In the past,urban research and construction were based on economics,efficiency,social management,etc.To update the small and pleasant old districts into hyperscale Newtown spaces,the method of large-scale demolition and large-scale construction is adopted.These newly-built formal spaces did not have the same expectations as the blueprint,which is full of vitality,humanity,and diversity.Instead,the external spaces of the dirty and disorderly old blocks on the edge of the city are lively and vigorous.In this sharp contrast,the study of the vitality and the generating logic of the outer space of these old blocks,as well as the influence on the urban space,becomes the origin of this paper.The external space of these old blocks is gradually formed,relying on the self-adjustment of unofficial forces.The colorful clothes hanging in the streets,various forms of awnings in different heights,self-built lifestyles,and business-type space show a unique urban landscape;crowds dining and chatting in the streets,the melodious and regular shouts of street vendors,and the laughter of onlookers gathering around people who are indulged in playing chess on the street,all are essential constituents of the unique urban memory of the old block.The interweaving of various elements such as society and humanities,gives birth to a stable social network,neighborhood relations,and special urban space texture and place culture.From the structure of the text,this article is mainly divided into four parts,and six chapters:The first section asks questions(Section 1).Explain the origin of the research of this article,discuss the purpose and significance of this paper.Through the analysis of concept definition,research object,research scope and research status at home and abroad,put forward the innovation of this paper and form the research context of this paper.The second part analyzes the problem(Sections 2 to 4).Explain the relevant phenomena of informal space and related theories,and analyze the relevant cases theoretically;conduct an actual investigation and analysis on the scale of the informal space in the old neighborhoods,the structural layout,the spatial interface,and the user’s participation in space;the survey data is summarized and compared to lay the foundation for solving the problem.The third part solves the problem(Section 5).Through the analysis and research on theories and actual investigations in the chapters above,some inspirations of informal space in old districts for practice are summarized.The fourth section summarizes and looks ahead(Section 6).This article summarizes the research perspectives.Through this study,the author hopes to help the follow-up research on the informal space.
