| Nowadays, with the rapidly change in education pattern, teaching ideas and modes in China are becoming much more diversified and flexible. Communication has become an important way to acquire knowledge between colleges and universities. The design of traditional teaching building pays much more emphasis on classroom space, namely,formal learning space, than the informal learning space also plays an important role during the teaching and learning process.The main purpose of this research is to understand the design and application of informal learning space in teaching buildings in parts of Hefei’s colleges. We used questionnaires and face-to-face interviews to investigate the teachers and students’ intention and evaluation of using informal learning space in teaching buildings.Then, we analyzed its distributing features and its related influence factor, its frequency of utilization, and subjects’ overall impressions and kinds of behavior in informal learning space in teaching buildings. With the combination of foreign experience and advantages, we classified the informal learning space in teaching buildings by its different distribution and conclude some main problems existing in the informal learning space in teaching buildings. Through putting forward the corresponding solutions, providing some suggestions to the design of informal learning space in university teaching buildings. |
