The Preservation And Application Research Of Yantai Chaoyang Historical Community And Associated Construction

Like a series of history books and documents,historical blocks could record the changing process objectively during the urban construction,and it is no doubt to say it is the isotropic carrier of history of civilization of a city.John Rosskeen,the British great thinker,ever said that poem and architecture are two powerful conquerors of human’s lethe,and obviously the latter is more powerful than the former in the real world.He emphasised that people could still live as usual without architecture;people could still have adoration apotheosis without architecture,however,people will lose their precious memory without architecture.Chaoyang historical blocks of Yantai,with the imprint of Yantai’s being forced to open port,use a lot of buildings with typical western features to draw a beautiful and charming picture of the Yantai city.This block witnessed the historical developing of Yantai during the hundreds years,moreover it could reflect the previous prosperity and reflect the city development process objectively.There is no doubt to say that Chaoyang block is the precious wealth for all the public.Unfortunately,with the rapid development of Yantai,Chaoyang historical block has been becoming the memory for all the citizens.No one has the chance to review its great past.Hence,how to protect the traditional buildings and rebuild the historical memory as well as let the historical blocks prosperity again have become the new challenging project nowadays,because these problems concerns about the development of Yantai of the continuation of the historical culture.This essay mainly concerns about conducting the academic research related to Chaoyang historical block and its associated buildings.In this thesis,architecture morphological and typological research methodologies are utilised to organise and conclude all the historical architecture blueprint,journals,pictures,books and some other references.During this process,the factors which affect the changing of Chaoyang block,such as natural environment,social politics,population and culture are analysed in detail in order to reveal the reasons for the generation and changing.Based on the field trips,surveying and mapping,the current situation of Chaoyangblocks are described.At the same time,the current challenging and problems are concluded.In addition,the current block and architecture features and values are analysed and researched.These research results will definitely provide a valuable reference for the following preservation and renovation.At the final part of the thesis,through the research of Chinese current historical preservation cases,the practical strategies and plans aims to future joint development of Chaoyang historical blocks and preservation of specific buildings.Moreover,according to the research result of space joint of Chaoyang historical central blocks,the blueprint and preservation plans are proposed.Hopefully,these strategies and plans could provide significant reference for the future development.At the same time,this reliable and practical plans will also provide reality reference for rebuilding Yantai’s historical characteristics.Furthermore,this thesis is going to provide significant effects on the renovation and development of similar national historical blocks.
