| The universityrefectory is an important place in college students’ campus life.Modern college students’ learning methods and ideas have undergone great changes,which makes a traditionalrefectoryonly offeringan accommodation service cannot make college students satisfied.In order to cope with this new demand,many college refectories showed a variety of functional features of the multifunctional use.The interior space,together with outdoor gray space and outdoor open space,helps to meet the new need.The gray space has a unique advantage in solving existing problems and satisfying the new demands of students,and can be a powerful complement to the interior space function.Sometimes gray space itself is the main place to meet some new demands.Multi-functional compound use of the university refectory in Xiamen is still rudimentary,and is unable to meet the needs of most college students.Compared with the construction of the interior space,the optimization of the gray space has the characteristics of short time,low input and low difficulty.Therefore,it is of great significance to optimize the gray space to meet the new demands of the university students.In this paper,the author investigated the university refectories built inrecent 30 years observing the new features of the university gray space,and discovered some problems in using the gray space.Today there are three types of typical comprehensive college refectory,and the author tried to solve the existing problems by optimize gray space in Xiamen’natural environment.The main research work of the paper is summarized as follows:Firstly,by reading domestic and foreign scientific and technical literatureabout college refectory and other related news reports and policy provisions,the paper pointed out research status quo on university refectories.Secondly,by analyzing the spatial function and area change of Xiamen University cafeteria for nearly 30 years,the paper summarizes the types of comprehensive canteens in Xiamen colleges and universities.At the same time,through the preliminary questionnaire about student needs,the paper found outsome typical architectural cases with research value.Then,the use of comprehensive refectories in the typical cases is analyzed.The analysis of the specific needs of the students will go on,to find out the key gray space which needs to be improved.Finally,according to the characteristics and requirements of various types of multifunctional refectories,the transformation strategy is put forward,which will be verified by examples. |
