With the experience of working in Chongqing Tongnan navigation-power junction project, the author finds that the construction progress of annual plant cofferdam has been a month later than the plan progress, caused by the delay of low water cofferdam.Further more, the large work quantities of cofferdam cutoff wall, earth filling and slope protection construction make it impossible to be finished in time.Above all, this thesis combines the reading literature and work experience in project management to study on the problems of progress control and schedule optimization in cofferdam project with Forward Line Comparison Method. The main research contents are as follows:(1)In order to providing theoretical basis for choosing study method,we firstly summarize some methods in common use, which are usually used to solve the problems in project progress management, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages among these methods by making a literature review.(2)Based on a brief introduction to the general situation of cofferdam project,we make a use of Forward Line Method to compare the construction progress with the plan progress to find the deviation between them.(3)Combining with the related literature research and the author's management experience, this thesis solves the problem of duration delay in the cofferdam construction theoretically by advancing the suitable optimization measures to the project schedule optimization on technical and management sides and also inviting industry experts to demonstrate the optimization measures.(4)In order to verify the feasibility of optimization measures, this thesis certificates the optimization measures are economically viable and technical necessary, compared before and after optimization measures on the construction schedule, labor input and project cost.
