| Currently there are fewer and fewer opportunities for children to touch the nature within cities which leads to the loss of sensitivity towards nature and the interests in the nature. The children playground in the park is the place where children frequently play at. The overall quality of recreational space plays an important role in the development of children’s physiology, mentality, intelligence and health. Most parks have a lot of recreational facilities on children’s playground. However, most children are lack of natural activity space which is pleasing and joyful. A feasible plantation design on children’s playground in parks can not only draw children’s attention and help them obtain related knowledge but also raise the awareness of environmental protection.Take the needs of children from 3 to 12 years old as the starting point because children of this age love to play very much and in need of care as well. As the object of study, the following problems appeared when conducting field research on designing the plant landscape on children’s playgrounds in parks. (1) There are barely plants on children’s recreational facilities in many parks. (2) The diverse needs of children have not been taken into account when designing the plant landscape on children’s playground in parks. The plant landscape is monotonous and barely interesting and inspiring. (3) Some species of plants may cause harm to children in the venue. (4) The existing plants have little significance in children’s education. (5) The plants and recreational facilities are not combined skillfully. (6) Children’s playgrounds in parks seldom use natural communities of plants on children’s playing field. The main research results are as follows:(1) Allocate plants on children’s playground according to characteristics of children’s physiology, mental and behavior. (2) Combining the plants and recreational facilities skillfully can not only enrich the landscape of playground but also provide a shelter place for children. (3) Make full use of taste sense, visual sense and smell sense to draw children’s attention. (4) Teach lessons while entertaining children by using plants. (5) Taking advantage of plants appropriately can build a specific atmosphere of children’s playground. |
