Exploration Into Construction Module Design

With rapid development of urbanization in China as well as transformation and upgrading of economic development,people have higher requirements to living environment.However,low resource utilization rate,damage to ecological environment,no guarantee of construction quality and frequent accidents seem to sound the alarm for some shoddy traditional construction pattern.It is urgent for construction industry to transform.Under the background of conscientiously implementing deployment for developing prefabricated building with great effort,it is somewhat necessary to introduce “modular” strategies in design stage.Domestic and foreign scholars have already elaborated their viewpoints about “” from different aspects in literatures and works,which symbolizes the concept of modularity has taken form.The so-called modular design refers to arranging and combining the modules in final designing to form a new integral building.These modules are respective function in the process of designing whose use functions are under thinning after analyzing the building in details.Therefore,this paper,aimed at studying modular design of buildings and based on construction theories,is to construct modular design system also in combination with theoretical achievements of environment-behavior studies,psychology,human engineering and other disciplines.Before writing this paper,the writer refers to a lot of literatures about “modular design” and analyzes and summarizes many domestic and foreign cases.After investigating constructed security housing in Nanjing,Beijing and other areas to learn from experience,the writer constructs the standardized design system for security housing from house type module,fa?ade module and component module also in combination with security housing project in Qingdao undertaken by the writer’s team.Because of successful modular design of security housing,the writer then explores the modular design for schools and kindergartens as support of residential areas.Finally,it combines with emerging BIM software to construct information model library to layfoundation for developing prefabricated building.
