Aircraft maintainability, refers to the ease of plane maintenance to recover its airworthiness, is a kind of inherent attributes from design, its quality directly affects the aircraft maintenance personnel working status and cost in the process of consumption. Impact on staff will directly affect the quality of maintenance, which affects the safety and normal operation of the plane. There are many limitations in traditional maintainability design, such as excessive reliance on physical prototype, thus regulations and training material related maintenance will be seriously lagging behind, and many problems cannot be solved in time,not to mention to submit these problems to aircraft designers to get the design improved.Concurrent design of maintainability based on virtual maintenance is a good way to solve the above problems. The plane can be assembled before the aircraft manufacturing through the adoption of digital prototype. We can find problems and shorten the time of manufacturing, research and development; You can also import the plane into the virtual prototype system to simulate the process of maintenance, and then you can make qualitative and quantitative evaluation of aircraft maintainability to get the maintenance problems solved early; It is wise to introduce the concurrent engineering into the virtual maintenance and maintainability design, so that you can take an consideration of the maintainability problems in the whole life span. It can shorten the development cycle and save development and maintenance costs obviously.This paper is based on the virtual maintenance technology, and introduces the concept of concurrent design in the design of aircraft maintainability. It takes Boeing 737 aircraft landing gear maintainability design as an example to have an analysis on the maintainability of nose landing gear in virtual maintenance scene establishment, maintainability parallel process modeling and maintainability design method. MOD is also introduced to analysis the affect of maintenance action coherence on maintenance efficiency, and the facts is also analyzed and improved to improve the maintenance efficiency. Finally, one software on virtual maintenance is developed to form a complete system of maintainability analysis.
