The rural construction has a long history in China. There are countless researchers who have never stopped practicing and exploration on it. The rural construction has made great achievements, but also faces many problems. Urbanization conducted widely in rural area is a copy of the pattern in urban. In fact, this kind of inappropriate construction brings problems to rural area in both physical and social environment. Inappropriate construction destroys traditional regional culture such as rural landscape and traditional architectures, and it can?t even fit with local life style or production methods. After learning lessons from it, a new request on rural construction to be people-oriented, harmony with nature, and respect the countryside is put forward at present. What?s more, many architects, university groups, charitable organizations and artists, join the rural construction activities in order to solve rural problems and realize humanistic care, which can provide guidance and reference for exploration of the rural construction.This paper sorted out the current rural construction, and analyzed the construction in Qingling village, a case the author personally involved in, in order to put forward strategies of rural construction in two dimensions-organization and planning strategies and adaptable design and building strategies. This paper summarized strategies of construction adaptable to rural area, in order to provide reference and experience for the future rural construction.This paper was consists of six chapters.The introduction: this chapter explained the background, the existing problems, the purpose and significance of this research, and clearly defined object of this study, then introduced related existing practices and research, and explained methodology and research framework.Chapter II: this chapter analyzed the context of the contemporary rural construction, and classified those cases according to its participants, type and region, then analyzed the challenges existing in the contemporary rural constructionChapter III: this chapter described the background, process, influences of a case the author personally participated in, which was conducted in Qingling, Pengshui, Chongqing by Wuzhiqiao group from 2012 to 2015, and made evaluation on it, then summarized the strategies of rural construction in two dimensions, in order to lay the foundation of the later discussion.Chapter IV and Chapter V are the important parts of this study. They discussed the strategies more deeply by using cases of contemporary rural construction, based on the framework of the experiences concluded in chapter III. Chapter IV mainly focused on discussing strategies of organization and planning, specifically in aspects of systematic gradual construction, cooperation mechanisms, public participation and university cooperation. Chapter V mainly focused on the design and building strategies which are adaptable for rural natural environment, human environment, economic and technological condition.Chapter VI: this chapter rethought the shortcomings and limitations in contemporary rural construction, and refined the revelation to architects and architectural education.
