In-situ Process-A Study On The Rural Area Architectural Practice By Contemporary Chinese Architects

Globalization has become a strong context of contemporary society, the regionalism architecture has a growing decline and convergence performance. Due to relatively slow development, rural aera gets less influence by globalization, making part of the regional culture preserved.Over the past decade, due to the gradual saturation of the amount of urban construction and the national policy support for rural development, many domestic young architects’focus shift from urban spaces to rural areas. Those area which maintain the geographical features of the rural background emerge a series of architectural practice with historical background, geographical features and value of social work. At the same time, discussions concerned about regional architecture, in-situ, vernacular architecture also become hot spots.Thesis fouces on contemporary architectural practice cases in rural area. Classification, comparison and research are made based on collecting cases, and lessons learned from the phenomenon of interpretation on two levels were analyzed and summarized, analyzed its elaborate technical rationality and social value.
