Research On Expression Of The Traditional Architectural Culture In Contemporary Architectural Design In Minnan

In the process of urbanization in recent decades, regional history and culture are ignored by people. With the impact of the globalization, people begin to deny their own culture. There is a fault in the continuation and heritage of regional culture. Traditional architecture as an important carrier of the regional culture has also been severely affected.In this environment, the continuation and development of Minnan traditional architectural culture which has a long history is an issue that must be considered. "Minnan culture is an important part of cross-strait cultural exchanges." President Xi said during the two sessions last year, which shows that the preservation and sustaining of Minnan culture has a practical significance and research value in a degree. Architectural culture in Minnan as an important branch of Minnan culture makes people have an understanding of what it is through architectural forms. While some architects have made some efforts to design some excellent work, but less systematic study on expression of Minan traditional architectural culture in contemporary architectural design has been made to sum up the appropriate principle and method. I hope to do some effort into this filed, and the results of the study have certain significance in contemporary architecture design in Minnan region.First, the first chapter explains the concepts of thesis topic and introduces the background, significance and status of this research study at home and abroad. Further, the author defines the content and research method, and then draws the research framework.Secondly, the second chapter provides an overview of the geographical characteristics, climate and traditional architecture, then describes the causes and cultural feature and the characteristics of architectural culture in Minnan.Again, the third chapter analyzes the expressions of Minnan culture in traditional architecture and makes a summary. The fourth chapter analyzes contemporary architecture examples and summarizes the expressions of traditional design method in contemporary architectural design from the traditional facade composition, traditional architecture interface, the traditional building materials, traditional architectural color and traditional architectural details.Finally, the fifth chapter shows the design practices based on the theory in the previous chapters.
