Study On Traditional Settlement Space In Southern Fujian Based On The Theory Of Culture Change

Traditional settlement is an important carrier of culture which retains rich material and non-material cultural heritage. It is an important stage of homesickness. As the urbanization continues, many settlements on the one hand, faced with the plight of cultural heritage protection, on the other hand their development is a huge challenge. The protection and development of traditional settlements has been a compelling problem. As a result, research on settlement protection and development has become increasingly important.Cultural change means that during the social and historical development process, internal or external environment change from society, such as national integration, migration, political institutional change and war, could cause people’s life or way of life change, thus bringing forth a new change of the corresponding culture. Based on the theory of cultural change contributes to combine settlement space form and settlement cultural structure, then give the settlement spatial evolution law reasonable cultural interpretations.Therefore, based on the theory of cultural change, combined with a large number of field investigations, this article explore with the changes of Southern Fujian culture, how the Southern Fujian traditional settlements space evolution from breeding to formation and development, prosperity, decline and finally rebirth under the cross action of multiple culture change paths. The paper has six chapters altogether. The third chapter mainly analyzes the reason of culture changes and the main change path in Southern Fujian. The fourth chapter gives comprehensively analyses of Southern Fujian traditional settlements culture system from the natural, ideological, social and technical aspects, and research its settlement spatial evolution process systematically. The fifth chapter takes national historical and cultural village the Tukeng village as an example, analyzing its evolution process with the culture change, revealing its spatial characteristics, providing the basis for further protection and development. This article attempts to provide a reference for traditional settlements protection and development research in Southern Fujian, and rich the related research areas.
