Evaluation Of Noise Abatement Measures Based On Flight Procedures

Thanks to great developments of aviation industry, Chinese air transportation network is getting more and more prosperous, from which we enjoy a lot of convenience. While this situation also leads to a heavy overload in many huge cities' airports. Caused by the intensive flight movements, aviation noise pollution at those airports is becoming a severe problem.How to characterize and evaluate properly the level of noise pollution around the airport and to search for appropriate solutions are becoming an urgent problem for all the aviation and environment researchers.This paper describes the great influence of noise on the area nearby the airport in recent years, as well as the research progress from domestic and foreign aviation and environment researchers. Then, taking into account of the characteristics of different noise assessments from different countries and the fact that we shall discuss the case of noise influence on a piece of dynamic region, we set the average day and night equivalent noise level as the basic assessment level to quantify the impact of airport noise on the surrounding circumstances.This paper applies widely basic rules and theories of approach and departure flight procedures,aeronautical noise and aircraft flight performance to establish the research model and determine the processes of calculation method. Then, we shall study on a specific situation of an actual airport, by applying the actual data of this airport, operational aircrafts and flight information. Using computational tool-MATLAB to build models for data simulation, then applying integrated noise model(INM) to analyze noise evaluation after calculation and verification. The article also makes a comparison between standard departure procedures and noise abatement departure procedures, as well as standard arrival procedures and continuous descent approach procedures. Taking into account of all analyses and researches on involved comprehensive flight program of our researching airport, we finally find an optimization of flight procedure for noise reduction.
