In the actual production activities, since the iterative moving of the crane led to the rail gnawing problems often occurred in crane girder system of industrial plants, what's more, there is a big arbitrariness during operation of the crane driving process, sometimes the crane driver breaking too fast, not only will exacerbate the rail gnawing problems, but also will cause a great vibration to the overall structure of the plan, when it is seriously, even damage to the structure or elements, brings more serious consequences. How to restrict the crane driving, and how to work out the rail gnawing phenomenon radically and maintain the crane girder system are a few problems to be solved.In this paper, the rail gnawing problem of overhead crane is studied firstly, the conception, phenomenon and harm of the problem are defined, and this paper observes and classifies the rail gnawing phenomenon, analyzes the reasons of each type of rail gnawing problems respectively, and then put forward the corresponding solutions. Secondly, this paper chooses A6-A8 of Wuhan steel plant as subject investigated, carries out the computer simulation analysis to the plant with the large general-purpose finite element analysis software of ANSYS which developed by the American ANSYS Corporation, according to the design drawings provided by the factory and the real situation, this paper builds the properly simplified finite element model, selects the appropriate element type and meshing accuracy, after considering the variety of load cases and carrying on vibration analysis to the plant, finally, the plant vertices' displacement-time curve is obtained, by analyzing the results and contrasting with the relevant provisions of "steel structure design specifications", this paper verifies the rationality of a formula calculating braking distance of crane.Finally, this paper simply summaries the details above, then compiles a safety technology and maintenance strategy of overhead crane for crane drivers and plant administrators according to all the results and related references, some Shortages are also listed, and I give my own views and prospects.
