With the rapid development of computer technology, CAD technology in the crane industry has been widely applied.But most of the crane enterprises still use two-dimensional design, only a few of enterprises use computer-aided design, the three-dimensional design has not been fully used.It is parametric design that breaks the bottleneck. Since the structure of bridge crane is relatively stable, and similar, serial, universal parts account for a large proportion of it, the parametric design for it become possible.This research topic comes from "developing of 160t crane parametric design system".It mainly study the bridge crane which is divided into a lot of modules according to the structural characteristics of it.In the system,SolidWorks is the development platform and VB is the development language. The system adopted the C/S/W network architecture, researched the parametric design technology of bridge crane based on LAN,and realized the effective management of document using PDMWorks Workgroup.Details are as follows:(1)Present the usage of parametric technology in the crane both at home and abroad, explain the significance of the subject.(2)Determine the overall architecture C/S/W and "Project-Product-Parts" operation flow of the system,combined with PDM design ideas on effective data management, has introduced the function modules of the system.(3) Established the parametric model of crane based on experience, use VB to program the man-machine interface, model-driven and engineering drawings tuning procedures.And develop the second development to PDMWorks Workgroup, achieve to auto management.(4) Explain the key technologies of the system in the development process in details, and demonstrate them with examples.
